Very sunny in our area today, and have completed the maintenance of our RoseGarden and other parts of our garden. Has been raining in the last 3 days
Hopefully, the sun will continue to be out tomorrow to continue my gardening!

I was awake early and had a look out of the window at 4.30am but nothing doing with the aurora. I've just been outside to have a look but again nothing to see. I did hear a bird having a little conversation with itself, even though it's still dark - I think it was a blackbird, but might have been a robin, hard to tell.'A watched potato will never chit'...5

Well the pic didn’t work😖 but yesterday was lovely been out night before and woke at ridiculous o clock , couldn’t get back to sleep so got up at 4.30 , had a wash on by 8 and pegged out . Went for a walk through the plantations and ended with a blister under my foot how that happens when they’re the same boots I always wear I don’t know.
went to bed early as had to really be up at ridiculous o clock this morning for work, had a text whilst in bed saying lovely sunset and might be able to see Aurora, checked each time I woke to go to bathroom but no joy.
I put the last of the indoor bulbs in on Saturday morning, boy it was freezing but no hail luckily.
Good luck with the basket, I know if I tried I’d be bringing the fence down 😜

Love your new sig pp ha haa! Early birds here too, it's my blackies I think. One of them is still single cos he's put an extra couple of notes on the end of his tune to see if that gets him any takers. I saw a couple of magpies on my feeder yesterday, attractive as they are I don't want a whole lot of them. I just want lots of blackies, robins, blue tits, long tailed tits and sparrows. For that I will sacrifice the mice, pigeons, crows/rooks, squirrels, and that new cat. And the slugs, who are either drinking happily from the buried cans and carrying on or are avoiding them entirely. *Sigh*Farway said:I've always wanted a gage, may be a tall tale, but a bloke named Gage on one of my ships reckoned one of his ancestors introduced Gages to UK.Found the link. https://www.orangepippin.com/varieties/plums/old-greengage
(If I read the right books would you be in there..?) Having read that link I quite fancy a greengage now
but I hardly think I'd get the rootstock right after what ras said...
No aurora here either cos it was too cloudy but I did get a pic of the moon - the colours round it were quite striking in real life. Maybe the Aberdeenette saw something good? I'll keep yous updated with pics of the Hanging Baskets of Barbylon 2p, never fear. I'll love it if it works, really I will.
They've all given rain today, sobers and bbc reckon it's raining right now (wrong) and the drunkards say it'll be windy all day (wrong so far). I'm still not risking a wash though.
I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.7 -

I best not buy any more trees while I figure out what my ones are. Seems a shame to miss out mind… no matter how interesting ras. Well I might look *ahem*
Will you find something there 2p?What was that about damage limitation? One of us left the freezer door open a tiny bit last nightso when the other one of us came down first thing the kitchen was puddling a bit. So I’ve distributed as much as I can, my oven’s rammed, and nobody’ll starve this week for sure. Himself suddenly realised the fence all needs painting and he’s been on it these last 5 hours. Wise.
Septic tank, tap it for Green bio energyI prefer that over Bluey's suggestion! In fact, I'm sure the 1500 litres they'll take today ends up somewhere it's used. Just a shame I have to pay nearly £300 to get it there!
Yesterday's clearance for the septic tank man's big hose turned into a full-on spring clearance. It was chainsaw rather than loppers in many cases. For example, the Elderberry 'Black Lace' was reduced by at least 8' !The shrubs have done a fine job sheltering the garden, but it was time to let more light in or lose some smaller plants.
It's just as well we made good use of the finer weather yesterday, as now it's back to light rain, strong wind, and about 8c all day.No pictures taken yesterday, but here's another from the streamside, where the Iberian Comfrey is blooming already. It comes in 3 varieties; this one seemingly more patriotic than a certain new football kit!Of course, the kit's been designed that way to wind people up, just like so much else.Divide and rule etc. The team can go forth in Gingham dresses and frilly knickers for all I care.....Oh, hang-on, silly me, that's 2030.
Because this is such a close view, here's another one which shows the plant in context. It's nice, easy going ground cover, but turn your back and it will take over....
I'd better stop there!

Beautiful photo Bluey.
Halo round the moon means rain......so what's new?
Wet with an east wind, oh joy. My 'buck up' mechanism is all worn out. I don't expect 20c but can we please have some dry weather? Anyone know a go away rain dance?
Even a walk is out of the question because it's all mud, too dark to decorate and too cold to sit and work indoors.
Hurrrummmph!
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
viral kindness .....kindness is contageous pass it on

I forgot to refresh the page and missed all the early posts.
At least you had the moon to take a super-bright photo of, Bluey. Here, I didn't even see that! I peered out the front door at about 03.00, and I wasn't sure whether it was cloudy or clear, thanks to a faulty security light on the barns down the road that seems to detect anything that moves.
Also, because it had been a bright day previously, the neighbour's solar fairy lights were still twinkling. Dark skies? Pft!
Dry tomorrow for us, 2p.It might have been wort who wanted to take a photo of an acer. Last autumn, I rescued DD2's two 50p bargain Acers and stuck them in 1litre pots in the polytunnel rather than have them drown outdoors. They're looking good now, so I'm hoping she'll have forgotten about them.
Problem is, where to plant them here that will be sheltered enough.

Having a bit of a cold snap here - Tusky says 9, but my fingers are telling me it's colder (and that I need to make a cuppa for them to cuddle). Not much going on, just waiting to see if the builder's show this week (they already said not today, but maybe tomorrow or Wed). Hopefully my mum's rhubarb will be delivered, and that's in a pot so nothing for me to do. She's going to be going home with quite a haul this year with one thing and another.
This morning's problem is the dishwasher. F11 fault meaning not draining properly. I cleaned the filter out last night so I'm hoping that I've just not put it back in right...I'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.5 -
@ArbitraryRandom - I get a regular 'not draining' fault after I run a hot cycle to clean it, because the outlet hose runs along and then up to the sink rather than up and over. Drives me nuts. But if I turn it off and ignore it for a while it tends to recover. One day I'll pull it out, make a hole at the top of the cabinet, and thread the outlet through (and also cut off the miles of excess hose) so that there isn't stinky standing water in the hose making the DW smell.7
