Taken just now without the sun , so you’ll have to use your imagination 😉
Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.7 -
Ah now I'm confused. I'll have to go and squeeze the leaves but don't think they are scented. I like the look of them Abs. Will have to keep my eyes open for them.
But Sillia just popped into my mind after 5yrs and Poppys description sounds right.
Sun is shining here and the wind has dropped but still cold and too wet to garden. I may have a go at those tomato seeds later.
It's interesting about the acers. My tichy Morries ones are happier in the ground.
Seeing how they've survived I must keep my eye open for a larger one that doesn't cost a bomb. My non gardening neighbour has a huge one in a pot that was a gift and it grows fast. She won't know what it is though.

Sunny but coldIf it keeps fine, I may plant the potted Achillea I bought in Morries last week, no rush as it's in a pot anyway. Just the sooner it's in the ground, the better it will get settled ready for the summer drought. The climbing beans I started under damp paper towels are just starting to germinate and split with white root tip showing. Could be a job for the weekend, potting up into the loo rolls.twopenny said:Sun is shining here and the wind has dropped but still cold and too wet to garden. I was hearing that in Cornwall the treatment works are full and private contractors are turned way, which means Cornish septic tanks not being emptied, gawd know what the owners are expected to do, especially with Grockle season arriving. If there is a pong on the wind you'll know whyLovely acer WortMy plum blossom is just getting ready, plenty of white showing now, no bets taken for me getting plums this year, last year the weather conspired to stop all pollinators coming out of their hivesEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens5

I was wrong about what happens to the septic tank waste here; it just goes to the sewage works on the estuary about 25 milesaway.Toms doing OK here too, with 'proper' leaves on all now.
Nothing doing with the chillies in the propagator, though. The same goes for all wild harvested seed 'rescued' from a variety of locations
, but an Echinacea 'Magnus' grown by DD2 has proved prolific.
We can't keep those here long, so I resent paying for them!

On other matters, my dishwasher still isn't draining at the end of the wash cycle (so isn't doing the last rinse and dry)... I can get it to drain by starting a new cycle, so I don't think there's a blockage. I really don't know what the problem is. I think the easiest/cheapest DIY option is some drain cleaner to flush the pipes, followed if that doesn't work by a new filter (which I can get online for about £25)... unless any clever people here have any other suggestions before I have to call someone out?
And no sign of the builder so far today nor any messages, so I'm assuming that tues or weds now means weds or thurs...I'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.5 -
That is a perfect match Arbs. Yes, pretty and long lived. Don't care about conditions and not maintenace and slugs not interested. What more can you wantAlliums may be the way to go in the future. Bees like them.Post on the DIY forum re dishwasher. There's some clever people there with a lot of experience.Well Dusty, I won't be swimming down there anyway, far too cold. Should be gone before I get there.

Lovely pics on here, as always
one of these days I'll have something in my garden to show off
I was tempted to buy a pink magnolia in Lidl on Sunday - no price on them but they looked okay. I didn't get one because I'm just not ready to buy/plant things yet - there's still a lot of planning and landscaping to do - I'm thinking plum slate for some areas if I can get hold of some. And I still need to buy some hedging and build a pergola!!
It's nice and sunny this morning and supposed to be dry all day.'A watched potato will never chit'...5 -
