pink_poppy said:Forgot to say, lovely quince, AR. I think we've got the fake Japanese quince - pretty small orange flowers and it does fruit too, although they never seem to get eaten (even by slugs!!).
The builders timed things well here, knocking off at about 15 minutes before a heavy hail/rain storm. This morning looks reasonably dry and I'm getting up early to do some bits in the kitchen before I've got an extension cord running through again. Hoping for a quiet work day as I've also got to get a finger out tidying up ready for the parental visit next week!
Now the days are getting much brighter I'm liking this time of the morning. All of the cats tend to be on the bed and it's still and quiet outside to spend a while thinking about what needs doing etc
Oh, and Farway... you cost me another £10 in various seeds with your offer! T&M should put you on commissionI'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.5 -
Absolutely bucketing with rain and very windy this morning, I am hi hoing off to work though. Wish me luck with the Easter rush.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.5

Oh lordy. Is that Devon (can't remember where abouts you are other than South of me)?
I've just seen forecasts for South and North Wales in the next few days as well, but I hope it won't come up this far and/or would stick to the coast...

Sheesh Dusty! I hope it does move fot you.
I tried to see if we have snow on the hills but can't see the hill for low solid cloud.
Started with 2c here , gradually snuck up to 5c with icy rain which is promised all day. Thunderstorms later. Easterly wind getting up.
The robin stood on the fence looking pleadingly and now a pigeon looking miserable.
My walk with friends is off. Think the dancing too as that hall is cold.
So having to rethink the day. One thing for sure it won't be gardening!
And yes, there's been a name change. Not sure I like it and seems unnecessary.
The forum covers allotments too.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Good luck with the Easter rush wort!
Jeez they're some beautiful pics Dusty. Your sunset was a belter, and how about that snow?! We'll have to have about 150 pages in our calendar at this rate
What seeds have you bought Arb? I'll admit I don't look at those links now (sorry Farway) cos I just want lots of everything *sigh* Agree about the early mornings, best time of the day. If it wasn't so humid it'd be perfect.
I wonder what your bird is 2p? Fingers crossed your robin decides to set up camp, they're such a joy
I wonder why they changed the name of this board...? Mind I do feel more included now cos I don't have green fingers but do have a garden, and isn't that the way now? A majority of people have to have change forced upon them to placate the minority because spurious reasons/woke?
Sun's out here now and if it wasn't for the wind there'd be some real warmth in it. Black as you like and lashing rain earlier though. I hope all you suvveners have battened down the hatches, they gave horrendous winds on the forecast last night.I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.5 -
How to deal with foul weather.......
Nearly finished my easter chocolate.

I thought those pics were an early April Fool's, Dusty - looks lovely. We had a pretty sky first thing this morning, and keeping with your theme, it looked like a Tequila Sunrise
I liked 'Greenfingered Moneysaving' even though I'm the same as you, YBE, no green fingers here either. 'Gardening' as a title is just a bit meh though.
AR, do you think the quince fruit I've got would go with rhubarb in a crumble?? I'm all for experimentingHope the builders crack on today.
Cold and cloudy here today, but thankfully no white stuff on the horizon, just rain...'A watched potato will never chit'...4 -
