Dull, frosty with what I suspect is a bitter wind.Another day indoors but with another dream of attempting grafting applesI was reading a garden mag just now and it had method in there, except it's called rind grafting these daysI have tried and failed in previous decades, maybe time to try again before spring really arrives?I'll think hard about it as I have what could be ideal scions from the pruning I've recently doneEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens3

Catsacor said:Morning D, nice little treat with that Cistus - such good performing shrubs 👍 🌺Yes, they're ideal here in the drier places and the small flowered wild species do well in the difficult hedge banks too, though they only flower for a few weeks.Miserable and dull with a cutting wind outside, so I'm staying in and liberating a pension pot ahead of what I see as the potential for a severe downturn in fortunes on the stock exchange. It may be that I'll be planting something silver or golden in the garden in spring, or maybe converting funds into something more concrete, like a patio.
As I'm on my last warning at MSE, I should stress that I'm not scaremongering or giving advice here, nor do I have any expertise in growing funds, just tomatoes.

Oh no, sorry to hear that you are on your final warning! I only found out a couple of days ago that there is a "three strikes" rule on here! How would one know if one was nearing the limit? As far as I am aware, I've only had one post "reported" (a perhaps overly enthusiastic review of a product, subsequently reported as spam...by a certain Davesnave!
) but I don't know if that constitutes a "strike" in the MSE rules.
Meanwhile another bright cold day here. Now "warmed up" to -7C having been -13C when I took my usual wander round the garden with my coffee earlier. But the air is so dry, it really doesn't feel cold and the snow is that dry, powdery stuff that easily sweeps away with a soft brush and is useless for snowballs or snowmen.1 -

No, it won't count. That guy has a reputation for being rather unstable.
If you were on a warning, a message to that effect would have landed in your inbox.
I was silly enough to use an AI to insult someone unpleasant who has since been banned, and I had a post removed the other day because it conflicted with the government narrative and therefore constituted 'scaremongering.' It was about something currently simmering under the press radar, as inconvenient things do, but if it eventually surfaces I'll throw it back at MSE and ask for the yellow card to be removed. As for the sort of snow you're having, we rarely have that here. Beast from the East was probably the last time we hit -7c.3 -
Don't get banned D, how else will we enjoy your pics? 🙀Just my opinion, no offence 🐈2

I've already deleted one of my posts today!

Must be a time for it. I had the bathroom people wanting to know if they should keep my file or bin it. I was just glad to speak to someone, anyone.Looked out this morning and my lovely big bushy Purple Sprouting had all the leaves drooped vertically down. Looked dreadful. The French lavender bloom stems are facing downwards. The Purple Sprouting is looking a bit more cheerful now.I am worried by this icy wind and my Lemon Verbena shrub. It was this sort of weather that did for my big LV tree in the last garden.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
viral kindness .....kindness is contageous pass it on
The only normal people you know are the ones you don’t know very well
