My sunshine was fine when it left me, but it may have been watered down en route to some of you guys. Apart from one tiny shower, it stayed with me till dark. :)
Managed to  move the van and we're all ready for a quick start tomorrow morning. Two days of  hard labour and that will be a difficult job out of the way.
Only had time for a short stroll today, but noticed some daffodils out in our mini woodland.

It's been dryish. Even brightish. The garden is still to wet to work on. The surface of the soil is almost smooth like a lump of clay though it's not. So the wrought iron gate remains half sanded until I can guarantee a fully dry day or even afternoon.
Spring starts early here and I'm desperate to cut back the Autumn raspberry canes and dig in some barrier between me and my neighbour. She says her son just strims the runners off but I'd rather he didn't have to. I shouldn't be encroaching on their good nature.

Dull but dry for the moment, if it stays dry I'll attempt to prune the figs, but looking at the radar I see Dave is catching it right now & be with me later, can't say i didn't try
I have weakened and am looking at apples, from Chris Bowers, seems to have a wide choice, tempted to try the columnar style for one.
I did get column ones years back from Ken Muir but came unstuck when I did my back in & was unable to prune them, then the plum was ravaged by grubs so I cleared them out as by then they were too large & in the wrong place

Dave did catch it, but only for a short time. :) He's mixing concrete and has already done 2 tonnes, so it's a race now between him getting another 2 tonnes done and a front approaching from the west......Personally, he won't mind if the front arrives around 16.30 as the builder chap is talking about working till 18.00 and Dave is already knackered. :|

The weather front arrived at 16.30, but by then builder had his tail up and had drafted-in a fit mutual friend for the afternoon, just in case I expired. :# The floor was finished at 17.00, but by the time we'd packed up, everyone was soaked through. :/
Great result: work planned to take 2 days completed in one! o:)

It's been so wet for so long that even the slugs and snails have stopped coming out.
Put waterproofs on this morning determined to get a walk, sat and had a takeaway coffee on the beach in the rain, visited a plant stall that sells for charity and got some ideas. When I got home it stopped and sun came out. People were all looking skywards not sure if they were imagining things.
But didn't get to really enjoy it as I just decided to try a little bit of the gate I'm sanding to see if I could free the hinges and of course I was still there 'improving' it trying different tactics at tea time. The hinges work but can't lift the gate off.
I'm sure I'll appreciate the sacrifice once it's dry long enough to paint.  Not so much at the moment.

Misty start but the sun is trying hard, it may make it before the weekend forecast snow arrives, although I think it may stop a bit short of me
My rose seeds seem to have stopped and are stuck partially germinated, but it's early days
If the sun does make it then fig pruning will be carried out later

We were promised a dry day with sun. The sun was out when I woke up and I got overly optimistic. As I went out of the door it started raining and continued dull and damp.
I've had bulbs and plants to go in for a couple of weeks now and they are still sat at the top of the steps germinating in tiny pots. I've lost the enthusiasm for planting them out and where.

    Morning all 🤗

Very chilly first thing.  Bracing for the cold snap and praying we don't get snow here 🙏
Just my opinion, no offence 🐈

Yes, doesn't look promising from tomorrow onwards! We can always hope the forecasters are wrong though. :)
Nothing to report, as I was all aches and pains yesterday and just stayed indoors.
I'm fine now, but have to decide whether I waste time on food shopping or do something useful outdoors. :/ I can't see me working outside in 2c next week if it's also dull and dreary! :#
