That video made me giggle Dusty, and who knew Jacob RM was welsh
I hope your funny turn was nothing serious taff? Good thing (?) you were in the docs though rather than at home with hours waiting on an ambulance.
Tipping up in public is awful pp, it's the embarrassment more than the pain of the thing eh. And a scuffed knee - very nostalgicDepending how far up there you are, the warmth is slinking it's way up the land today and tomorrow so you'll hopefully get a bit of heat out it :fingerscrossed:
I went from the tumblers to the gc yesterday and got a pot and a bag of no3 so I've that to do today. I also had a quick trot round the charity shops (for fomo) and got a Nina Simone cd. I can confidently announce that my Ska tree is an apple because 1) I lifted the pot cos it's a lovely colour and it turns out it has an apple tree on it, and 2) the best song on the cd is one about an apple tree and sinners and is properly jolly. I'm hunting round ootoob for it so I can put up a link. If I wasn't so idle I'd nip out to the car and check it's case but it's pouring in the rain and I'm only in my jamas so...
OT raining. Not big rain but steady soak-you-to-the-skin rain. Mild and misty and autumnal and lovelyI wouldn't mind another round of hailstones that set your car alarm off though - in my previous life we were a year on Benbecula and my god the weather we got up there was thrilling. I loved it!

-taff said:I spent a large portion of the day in A&E having ecgs taken after a funny turn in the docs this morning. All's fine though so no lasting hurtiness like your knee, which is most annoying for you I'll bet.I'm just jealous of people getting cuttings to grow for the most part, especially fig ones...Farway, when is good twig cutting time?Don't ask Farway about his twigs, or he'll be off with Rambling Sid Rumpo, fossicking his groats again!
Lets stick with Nina Simone!
Well, it didn't stop raining yesterday afternoon, and it's still dreich, but warm with it. Hopefully a few breaks today. Yesterday afternoon, I began sorting out our tender stuff, like dahlias, and also managed to make a couple of extra copies from suckers of this plant DD brought home from somewhere or other:I'd never heard of it, but it's been out all winter in a large pot and seems fine. Lots of roots! Maybe global boiling will make it a goer."There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Dr Chris Martenson. Peak Prosperity6 -
No unfortunately not, my blood pressure is always low...That's very pretty....that would definitely fill a gap....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi6

It's good for a patio pot if all else fails.I forgot, I've about 100 shrubs/small tree whips arriving today.
The 33 cotoneaster shrubs for a new hedge need potting-up for a few months. Looking at B&M's website, I see they aren't doing the same compost as last year, but I've tracked down the one I prefer to a local GC. A lot of outlets now seem to stock only Westland products, and I'm not a fan.

Low bp here too, and I agree it's a positive. I remember going to the docs years ago (I was only little so lets say 40 years
) The first thing mum did when she got sat in the chair was light a fag, doc did the same, then said that her low bp is fine - it just means it's got further to go to be high and it's high bp you don't want. Mine is really low mind, but I don't worry about it or my low bp would give me high bp ha haa!
Anyway. I only popped on to share a pic of my first daff. It's very cheerfulIf yous can see it through all the rain my phone says were currently getting
Sounds like you need to get cracking Dusty!I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.8 -
Rain & more rain.Dustyevsky said:I forgot, I've about 100 shrubs/small tree whips arriving today.Ha, beat you to it! My Purple Haze from T & M has just arrived, looks well-packed in a sturdy box about 5 feet high. I'll include unpacking it as my gardening for today.I have to check with DD but hope to get it planted in her garden at the weekend, if I do, you can expect a drought or blizzardsHope all hearts & knees are OK nowDustyevsky said:Well, it didn't stop raining yesterday afternoon, and it's still dreich, but warm with it. , seems the Atlantic Conveyor is slowing down and by 2025 there will be polar bears in Hyde Park, the bears may even beat the arrival of Electric Cars

Figs, an easy way, not tried, would be air layering, or if you are cack handed like wot I was during my recent Bud Notching, nowHere's a pic of my cack handed fig bud notching. I expect the bud will defiantley "break" now I've certainly disrupted the sap flow.Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens8 -
If I plant my herbs in pots, I have ji3 old fashioned one, do you reckon it's gritty enough or should I get some more grit?
Same weather as Dusty, wet and dull but warm. Too wet for much.
Another low blood pressure here though I reckon it's taken a whacking climb in recent years.
Everybody in the wars at the mo. What we need is more gardening
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Blood pressure is OK here, but I have bradycardia (and no, my resting heart rate is not this low because I'm super-fit). Which makes all the stress-related heart rate alarms for HIGH heart rate over the last few weeks even more worrying.
So definitely more gardening @twopenny. And ideally a premium bond win so I can give up work.

It’s bladdy raining here, it’s to stop in 44 mins though my phone says. We’ll see. That’s a beggar about the botched notching Farway, how about sellotaping it back together? I’ve done that before when I snapped a thick bit off a rose and it worked.Exercise is good for lowering bp 2p, I can heartily recommend dancing round your kitchen to Nina Simone. The ‘we’re a bunch of apple-eating sinners’ or whatever that song was called is a good oneI removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.6
