YoungBlueEyes said:Not to labour the point, but just in case my planted ones all die - here’s how similar they are. In fairness to morries it does say “indoor” on the label. Twice. But they were all sat on the outside racks together so…I'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.4

I’d say so too Arb. It was just others are aware of how similar the labels are and you’re to read them carefully. Twice.I wonder if hydrogen peroxide would work on compost gnats…I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.5

Spent a couple of hours this morning on top of the hedge with my chainsaw. It was windy and quite cold, but being a bit ancient, I have to do that sort of thing when I'm fresh outside.
There was no sign of the sunny intervals promised, either then, or in the afternoon, so Bluey's 50p didn't seem to reach as far as Devon.
Admittedly the wind moderated, and it became warmer, but by then I'd retired to the polytunnel for a repeat of 'Carry On Potting!' I'd put most of the Cotoneasters into something pot-like by 17.00, when the remainder were heeled-in. I was potted out by then! Thanks to the suckering habit of the plant, I've ended up with about 10 more plants than I bought.
Of course, if I'd been smarter, I could have bought 10 fewer plants.EDIT: I've just read through today's posts, and Farway's reminded me about the car.I forgot I'd taken it to the garage!
I won't get it back till Monday now. They didn't ring, so I'm taking that as a sign it's a straightforward fluid leak and an easy fix. Got to be....

Went into Tescos for a bunch of daffs
And came out with an apple tree.
I only had the car parking purse or it would have been 2
I have some of those inbetweener daffs, love them. The best of too small to collapse and enough height to be elegant. Good haul.
£7 apple in a bucket of water as per what Farway said he did.
Golden Delicious, not my favourite but for£7 I can deal with that. It's a tall one but with branches starting at 3ft and a,good shape I should be able to keep it small.
Heaven knows where I'm going to plant it.
10+c here, cool breeze dry. So not the all day rain they said.
They can get it wrong in my favour any time they like.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Nip and see if your gc has cheapo pots for it 2p and maybe lift some JI3 while you're there
You must have been shifting along to get all those whips planted Dusty. Does that just leave your polytunnel on the Big Jobs list?
Forecast is cloudy but mild and humid today, again. Short post today cos I've cackled my wrist doing all that gardening yesterday, it's all hot and soreThere's always something isn't there.
Oh and I've some cheeky beggar eating my daff! My one and only (so far) flowering daff wot I did grow myself! I don't mind sharing but not the first one, and it's only just opened too

Why are wisps of blue smoke rising from your pecked daff, Bluey? Is it that global smouldering, already? The birds do seem to go for the yellow flowers: daffs, primroses and pansies at this time of year.I haven't planted most of the Hornbeam whips yet, but I'll probably do some more today. It was the Cotoneasters that needed attention yesterday; now they're potted, they'll plant out less disturbed in May.You're right, I do have the inside of the polytunnel to sort out, a bed at a time. Just one wee bit of concreting to finish as well, but not today; it's yellow rain this afternoon. We're enjoying our Hellebores, but being a motley, self grown lot, most wouldn't win prizes. Far too many of them face downwards, like the white in this picture. OK if you happen to have a nice bed on a higher level, or a steep slope to grow them in/on. Oops I didn’t spot that. Smoke was ..erm.. smoke
so I’ve swopped the picture. Ahem.
Anyway. Nice hellebores there even if they aren’t prize winners, I’d be happy enough with themI removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.4 -

And there was I, thinking you were like me, with no vices whatever!
Not sure about the old bloke with kitten. Why has he no pet carrier?I think he may have pinched some poor child's pet! ...And why is someone's blouse hanging down beside him? Has he nicked that too? We need answers!
Meanwhile, here's another picture for Arb ,showing why we didn't initially build a garden behind our bungalow even after we'd cleared it. There were building materials to 'lose' and drains to do. P.S. The water is normal groundwater, not burst drains!
