YoungBlueEyes said:You know next door's for sale? Well I thought the ea's sign had blown away in the wind, but RM tells me "this property has been removed by the agent".
So there's that.
Is that the 'interesting' neighbours? If it is, surely there's a good chance of having better ones?
Our neighbours' committee have gone quiet now. I think they may have realised, creating a formal dispute and putting it in the public domain may not have benefited the people whose interests they're supposed to represent. Our last letter in November mentioned the TR6 form and the need for honest answers about disputes, should any of them wish to sell in '24. Of course, disputes can be resolved, in the correct manner.I should have shut up yesterday evening. Around midnight, the winds were back with a vengeance, and I heard the sound of tiles lifting and falling back into position, which is how I judge how serious a storm is. Nothing amiss his morning, though, and as it's reasonably quiet and dry, I think Mrs Dusty and I will have a day off!

Hmmm next door for sale is a worry. Will it be someone who has piles of cars and rips them to bits at all hours or someone opinionated on everyone else or even a great neighbour.
As for what I'm doing it's tons of stuff. Yesterday lots of gathering bits to finish other bits then a swim and sauna which is one of the little bits of exercise I can get. It was so dark and windy and wet I sat down for a break and didn't get up
So windy, much worse than what went before and the noise of it from all sides made it difficult to sleep.
Yes warm but dropped from 13 to 10c this morning but it feels more.
Think it's washing this morn for the one chance to get it dry.
I wonder how squishy it is out there? I need to cut and dig out my 'fan' trained red currants and replace with Goosberries if they are still alive.
Bluey, you can train soft fruit bushes into long thin step over on a border, pom poms, all sorts. Not enough people have fun with their garden. It's all very serious yet so much fun to be had. Time I remembered that

Ah Dusty, are the tiles alright or have you damage to sort out now? Yes it's the 'interesting' neighbours. I'm assuming they've taken it off the market cos when they were actively selling his/her mother was forever titivating, but their garden is currently knee-deep in dog doings and they've curtains hanging off etc. Unless they accepted an offer from someone who didn't view..? Don't know, time will tell. Hurrah for your quiet committee btw. Any dispute resolution will probably be fun, from your side
Yep lovely and mild here pp. It's a shame I've all my washing done for it's a grand drying day out there, as my granny used to say. Did you survive the battering in one piece? Also thanks for the covenant comment, mine are fine *big phew!*I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.4 -
No damage Bluey. Tiles lifting is 'normal-ish'!YoungBlueEyes said:Hurrah for your quiet committee btw. Any dispute resolution will probably be fun, from your sideIt's straightforward now. We do the work, and if they have a grievance, they take us to court. Assuming they don't, problem resolved. If they do, we're insured. It won't be as easy as that, I'm sure, but it's time to take the gloves off. There's also other work they don't know about, covered by different regulations, so that should be the fun bit.

No wind here to worry about, must have blown itself out once it had ripped my Merton Thornless shoot from it's moorings. It's just one shoot YBE, the root is fine and well settled in after a few years.I'll maybe venture out later and see what the brown lump is on my lawn grass.twopenny said:Hmmm next door for sale is a worry. Time I remembered thatI was just thinking last night about taking out my currants and replacing with trained gooseberries, since my yummy goosegog's Norwegian DNA finally carried it off to the fiords last year.Went to Morries this morning, the garden bit is a disgrace, dead & wilting plants and nothing much else.Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens5 -

Oops I missed your post 2p. Yep I'm definitely going to be trying out different shapes in my garden now I've read about Dusty's Newt. I suspect it'd look better if I had their walls to do it on, but hey ho
I may as well try eh. I really must start a thread about my garden...
Good news about your Merton Thornless Farway. I was imagining the brown lump on your lawn grass as the business end of it and the branches whipped over next door's garden and away with the wind
Despite the drunkards and sobers assuring me that rain really truly will start in a few (number varies) minutes I've decided to wash my coat and dressing gown. Doesn't smell to me like it'll rain at all out there....I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.6 -
Had a beautiful day, mild with no rain, some sun and even had lunch outside a cafe after I went to get stuff for 'the jobs'.
Thought about mowing the grass but cleaned the car after depositing a load to the dump recycling center.
They've promised it will be dryish for the next 2 days so time yet - maybe.
Lots of moss in the front lawn. Haven't dared checked the back.

twopenny said:Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof as they sayAh, haven't heard that one for a while, but it's so true!We had a good day too. Our lunch was in one of the finest fish & chipperies in the area.
We had a window seat, so not quite outdoors. Mrs Dusty's pessimistic car said it was only 8c, but I think it was more like 10-11c.
As predicted, very little in Morries, and their plant shop was still home to dead trolleys and leaves.I also looked for signs of life on the hawthorns on a bank overlooking the estuary, but it's still way too early even for those.
All the same, with the calmness and the weak sunshine, there was a 'spring-like' feel in the air.....

I like your quote too, I've never heard it before either. Pithy
Are you not keeping the moss in your lawn 2p? Lovely neighbour has moss in hers and she's forever trying to get rid of it. I'd love it... All I've got is ...casts/castings..? and tiny wee holes of critters getting in and out from under it. With luck it'll be something that'll burrow in and eat those wasp things that dug into hibernate a few months ago but I don't think I'm that lucky
A lovely dry mild dry Spring day here yesterday, and not a drop of rain  The damp's come down in the night though so it's all a bit soggy out there. 4' my phone says but it's another day of warming up 'til midnight. Strange is that. But I like the high pressure, it makes it feel Spring-like. A week today it'll be February - didn't that come round quickI removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.3
