Blue sky & bitterly cold, no snow despite “Light Snow” forecast for last night.DGD is finding out snow is not just for making snowmen & pretty pictures etc, their job now is clearing it all off the tops of the clipped hedges to prevent them from being bent over, the hedges, not the apprentices.Being a large estate, there are lots of hedges to clear. No proper gardening planned here, but if this sun keeps going I may try for a photo laterEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens7

YoungBlueEyes said:I can't see a flake of frost at all in your pic, seems you've got the heat where you are, lucky duck. It's all but arctic here and the whole garden's frozen solid. Haven't even got any snow yet, despite firm and confident promises from every quarter. Swines.
I'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.6 -
Ooh fresh and crispy Arb, very seasonal
Is your lurgy/not right-ness lifting? When's the circus..?
Have they reinvented the wheel for clearing hedges Farway, or is it still reach up and wobble it about a bit with a big broom?
That's a helluva hedge Dusty! Will it take long to get going again?
(How's your phone pp?)
Marginally less bitter out there this morning, it's -2 and feels like -6. So we're getting warmer. We got into plus temps yesterday, it was +2 around lunchtime! Didn't feel like it mind. In a couple of days it'll be 10' and lashing wind and rain, they say, and I don't know if I fancy that much tbh. At least this cold is dry.I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.5 -

If it is low bp, the cold doesn't help it. So maybe as it warms it'll right itself
Possibly maybe, as I am not a doctor. Still could be ears too though.

Hopefully the warmer weather will help Arbs, what are they predicting for you?
That's serious ice you've got there. Little round blobs, very curious.
-1last night and frosty this morning. Not the pretty stuff though.
Did you see Jupiter last night, sat by the moon? So many stars to see.
Today's staying around 2c with sunshine though that doesn't seem to help much.
I was thinking of mowing the lawn yesterday then noticed it was still frozen where you could see through the grass.
It would be cheering to see it look like someone cared. Loved the big windows in this house when I bought it. Now, not so much.
Big fat buds on the daffodils here already. Blossom on trees and lilac, fruit buds seem to be marching on regardless, even early.
Yet the winter veg is vey poorly.
No idea what's going on.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Phone is currently on charge, YBE. I have a screenshot taken from FB that I was going to put on here especially for you
Yes, I did see Jupiter, twopenny - I was going to ask if anyone on here had seen it - amazing. I do love stargazing.
More lovely blue ice - unless that's just my eyes/laptop playing tricks on me
It was snowing overnight and I woke up to a winter wonderland again. A couple of hours later and it's already melting. Forecast is rain, but we're into the positives too - up to 5 degrees I think. Wow...'A watched potato will never chit'...3 -
Birds are singing out there this morning!
I had recorded a blackbird singing to use as my alarm.
It was useless, I used to listen blissfully as it woke me up then drift off again!
Must see if I still have it. Now I'm retired I can drift off when I like.

Yep I saw Jupiter last night too, wasn't it lovely? I've had good clear skies these last few nights now, which is great for gazing up into but does nowt for the temps...
His Holeyness was yowling at my back door there so I went out and fed him. Little s0d, he'll eat my food then swan off with a backwards glance that says 'that was the same muck as yesterday, I want something better tomorrow'.
Here's my birdbath again, still only frozenly expanded in the middle. If yous can make it out through all the ...uuhhh...inches of snow we had yesterday -

Dusty that’s a lovely pink sky ,if I’d seen it on a painting it wouldn’t have looked real.
Arb I hope you’re well enough for the theatre.
Yesterday was still freezing, minus seven in BIL car going to work ,took ages to warm up when I got home from work, unfortunately that means all blinds and curtains are shut at dusk so did not see Jupiter. This morning I woke up to what looks like mini hail stones on the path that had been cleared by my BIL.
I managed to stay upright going into town on Weds, better than dgson as he fell twice going to college. He bounces better than me though.
-1 on my phone right now ,sun is pushing through again but it doesn’t make much headway on temps. Sunday looks like the biggest rainfall is due according to Ventusky.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.3
