The immune response is all very well Woolly but here we are literally surrounded by people who don't give a rodents nether regions about going out and coughing all over other peeps and the shopand stock in general.
Oh, I agree, which is why I do a lot of ducking and diving in the supermarket to avoid them, not that it does a lot of good, given what I know now about aerosols. :/
The rain was pretty intense on the road to the station, and the river sounded pretty fierce, but the train was on time. o:)
  • Dark wet and windy here, them Met Office drunkards lied to me - it was sposed to be windy mild and dry all day but it’s rained on and off since lunch 😟

Ribs are about the same or poss a little better….. so I think it’s only muscular rather than bone-ular. Chilblains are liking the warmer weather, and my Rock+Roll gloves!

Good to hear the lurgies are shifting along 2p Farway, hopefully they’ll be cleared by the weekend 🤞🏻

Daughter’s fish is wise I think woolsery, gotta march to the beat of your own drum!

Cabbage leaves Robcabbage leaves and ink?! If we, 36 of us, wanted something to read, we had to write it on concrete with the blood from our skinned knuckles. And sometimes it were raining an’all ☹️

I get everything delivered. Saves dealing with the idiots @twopenny is up against. Having said that, I've gone back to wearing masks on planes due to the amount of coughing and spluttering on the last couple of flights. I've also discovered that it means people sitting next to me don't try to talk to me, which is a huge bonus. Having said that, I haven't had a germ since getting Covid in March 2020. I think my immune system is probably still in overdrive... which may explain (at least in part) long covid.

Garden here is a soggy mess too, and I really need to get out and cut down the frosted cosmos. Sadly the cold doesn't seem to have affected the moles, who are still merrily creating mountain ranges all over the garden. I look forward to them lifting the flags on the patio imminently.

Ecstacy. Concrete? We used to use volcanic ash and that were still glowin'. We'd inhale the sulphur fumes for fear of breathin' in that fresh air stuff. Blood? We 'ad no blood, just tea. Cold tea. Without milk or sugar. Or tea!
Now a gainfully employed bassist again - WooHoo!
  • Glowing volcanic ash? Luxury! Think of the heat! Our concrete was inside permafrost that hard that we couldn't move, even if we wanted to, which we didn't, cos there were nowt to do on't tundra. Except dream of lovely warm volcanoes, and then die.

That's quite a refined self-seeder and doesn't look like a weed in the early stages, so should do OK. :)
Bright and not too cold here this morning, so that probably means I'm cleaning windows, but without the fun George Formby  reported. ;)

Wishing those with ailments a speedy recovery.

I'm hoping the blue sky will dry up the damp by this afternoon, yesterdays wind has blown away, not a breath today. A pheasant is sitting on my garden bench in the sunshine but my camera won't zoom far enough.

I'm away for Christmas for the first time since 1983. It's very strange not having to buy and organise the food. I am organising transport, driving from East Midlands to Oxford to collect child + 2 cats, on to Heathrow (or a tube/train station) to collect another child then Bristol airport to collect another. Plus my own cat, dog, daughter and did I mention the 2 pet hens. And my host is expecting us to arrive in time for 'afternoon tea'. I love my Jazz

That's some road trip!  I hope they all fit into your Jazz. I ruminated over the Jazz and the Ford Fusion, choosing the latter because I knew the seats were comfy, it sits high and the suspension's forgiving. I've found it a nippy little motor, but it's DB's and the image it has isn't 'me.' The dealer who sold it to us said, "It's had a lot of owners, but it's the kind of car that's the last one people own...err...if you know what I mean!" :D
Lovely day here; far too nice for cleaning windows, really. :| DB had the patio doors wide open at one point. What a change since last week!
  • I spent the whole day in the garden, once out there it was warm and dry. I went out all layered up but gradually removed them until just my vest and long sleeved t-shirt. I was working hard - cleaned out hens, spread compost on the potato and bean plot, edged the lawns (too wet to cut but edging does the trick), gathered hedge clipping from about September and generally tidied up all the clutter. I noticed the shed has developed a lean so the water from the roof runs down the side. Alas, it's not my problem so I didn't see it  ;)

Lots of walkers out and about today so I put a tray of Bramley apples out but by 4.30 not a single one had gone.
They disappear fast in September, perhaps people don't aren't thinking about apples this week. I've put them in the car to take to the charity shop in the village tomorrow.

Tidied the utility dumping room and found a bag of daffodils. Why do I buy them? I hate planting bulbs and I'm not all that keen on daffodils in the garden
