Ooh now I’m wondering…. Looking at those RHS pics you could be right. How small do crabapples go? My tree’s berries were only marginally bigger than my hawthorn berries….I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.0

Could it have been a yellow pyracantha?0

crabapple (or apple) challenge. I can't remember what variety it is, and it was bought as a maiden about 5 years ago - purple leaves, dark pink (almost magenta) blossom and finally this year dark red apples with pink flesh. Only they're not crab apple size (and the other crab apples are normal this year), they are HUGE - decent eating apple size. Nice (slightly unusual) flavour, slightly spongy texture rather than crisp.
As I'm moving, I'd quite like to put it on the list for the next place!
ETA - I think it might be Harry Baker, but the fruits are HUGE for crab apples!0 -

Couple of possibilities greenbee. Check out Wisley Crab, or Tickled Pink, the latter is small (supermarket) eating apple size. Flavour is definitely not stand apple but is OK.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing1

So, torrential downpours, one with hail, one without.
It's made any thoughts of gardening a non starter.
Roses like a lot of plants seem to think it's their second blooming time ( if the rain hasn't shattered them) and the mild temperatures see the tomatoes still coming. I guess by tomorrow they will have split again.
So with the early dark and heavy rain no photos today.
It's a weird world.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Thanks all! I will take some photos when I’m back home. I have managed to track down that I bought it from Walcot Organic Nurseries in 2017 as I can find the emails about the delivery but not the order. It was definitely meant to be a crab apple, but does look very like Tickled Pink.
mind you, I need to find a new garden (and house!) before I can do anymore planting!3 -
Awful weather overnight, woke me up about 0330 it was so bad with wind & rain, a couple of casualties I can see from my front window, the dahlia pot has toppled half into next door and the castor oil plant is yet again lop sided and waiting to snare the Postle. If weather improves, I'll pop out & fix those pair, apart from that no intention of gardening todayI did mooch down the garden yesterday, camera in hand, but nothing worth photographing at present. While there, I picked one of the Pinova apples that had a brown spot where something has had a go at it, they are not ripe enough to come easily off the tree, but this one was done for anyway. I sampled it this morning, and it would pass as OK ripe in a supermarket, but a few more weeks will improve them I think2P my Sunburst toms are still coming along outside and splitting like mad. But now it's November I'm hoping to get a photo of a non popped one just to showEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens2

Dentist first thing then drizzle and torrential rain with strong winds.
Finally gave in and put the heating on. Feeling 'under the weather' from doing too much and getting cold and wet.
The only remote reference to gardening was stewing some hard eating apples I collect from roadside baskets that kind people share, and cutting some kale.
So reaping more than sowing
Good luck with the moving Greenbee. Are you taking lots of potted stuff with you?I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
