Welcome back reprobate! Must duckduck fieldfares to see if I need to be jealous....
Edit - Not jealous. They aren't unattractive but they've got mean looking eyesI removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.1 -
Good to have you back, you miscreant! Hope the drilling went ok 😬🤓
I've not been around either as things got busy on the DIY building front ahead of DH's trip to help out at a family member's house.
Here's the before and after shots (loads still to finish but at least it was watertight by our deadline!) - quite a way to go before I can start on this part of the garden.
Before...
After (we made the windows ourselves - internal beading is not quite complete in these pics). It feels so much nicer to let the outside in...4 -
That looks lovely. Watertight at just the right time too, wet and windy forecast for a while now!I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.2

I like that, lily! So much less like a shop.....and what a great sylvan view!Hope you got my short email. I'll be updating you in due course.
The fillings were fine, if rather unexpected. Dentistry is one thing that really has improved since the good old days
I'll have to add a few miniature sheep photos to this thread when I can think of an excuse. Meanwhile, no roses, but here's a salvia still going strong in the mild autumnal weather:4 -
Salvias are on my want list 😍I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.1

They may often be bought as large plug plants for about £1 each from somewhere like Hayloft. Then it's possible to trial them in your own garden and see what does well, or at least survives. They're not long-lived, but taking cuttings is easy. They come quite true from seed too.2 -
Welcome back Woolsery, and LL I echo YBEye thoughts, completed the watertight just in timeA bit damp & dull here, but makes no difference because somehow I've "cricked" my neck, and it stabs me when I move my head a bit too quickly, even glancing down at the keyboard catches me out, I'm still a two fingered typistToday's pic is a hairy-legged spider lurking near my front door, it's a common garden one AFAIK, but conveniently close to take a picture ofEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens5

Thanks everyone ☺️ It's been an extremely hard slog getting to this point...however not only was it worthwhile financially to build the windows and everything else ourselves, but also I still think we got it done quicker than if we'd used the local joiner who made our other windows, lol!
Woolsery, I did. Thank you...and massive apologies for not responding yet 🙄
Farway, did you have to do that?!?! 😱 I know it's almost Halloween and time for 'ghoulies, ghosties and long-legged beasties' but I've found two (one massive 😰) spiders on my pillow since DH went away on Sunday and I don't want to have any eight legged beasties popping up on my screen unexpectedly thank you, lol!!!
Seriously, lovely pics as always all (except that blooming spider...shudder!) 😁

Like you, we've been very busy and 'developments' here mean almost every day brings something new and exciting from nearby folks, who appear to have taken umbridge on discovering they're the servient landowners!Meanwhile, we're using today's good weather to finish off a few details on the polytunnel before the big cover-up, whenever we get a really still day..... What do you mean, next May?Here's a piccie now the soil is back inside and the digger has reduced the slope behind, leaving us a decent area for the vegetable and fruit garden:

Be steady with your neck Farway, easier said than done I know… Love the pic (tho not the subject!), you take such good photos.Woolsery that’s some polytunnel, not at all what I was imagining! Are you cursed with truculent neighbours?I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.1
