Funny that because I've got flowers in bloom that the bees love but haven't seen any for ages.
Very wet but mild and I've been pruning and planting in a sunny break. Mowed the lawn again this week. Thats the problem with having patio doors. Everything you've done or not done you're looking at when you sit down for the evening.
I need to get on regardless of a wet lawn with reshaping and replanting before the clocks go back this weekend.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Lovely pumpkins @Farway.
Yesterday and this afternoon have been golden here so I've dropped everything and rushed out for a walk to enjoy it while I may. I took this photo this afternoon and the sky really was that blue.

A very stormy night, clearing the leaves off the trees rapidly now, GF my photo opp for golden leaves will have gone and I suspect they will soon be soggy piles in cornersYesterday I picked all my Pinova apples, not weighed them but plenty of them, a very nice lookng apple when it's left to grow in sunshine, and the taste is good as well, glad I bought it nowI also picked my Golden Delicous, only four large apples tis year but it's a fairly new dwarf tree in a pot, I don't think they are fully ripe but need to be off the tree with this weather and bird' I'll ripen indoorsSampled my grapes while I was pottering, quite sharp and very unlikely to ripen any more now, another casyalty of the rotten summer down here. I picked a couple of hidden bunches and left them out for the birds / squirrels to findThe blackkbirds have discovered the yellow pyracantha berries this morning so those wont be around much longer, I'll try & get a photo while I canEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens4

We had a very wild and windy night here last night, if there were any broomstick flyers about they must have been blown to Norway at least!
Here's the aftermath on the riverside walk at lunchtime today.
Your apples and grapes sound delicious @Farway and I'm wondering how to wangle being re-incarnated as a pampered garden bird, their existence seems to be extremely pleasant. Grapes and yellow pyracantha berries, yum!"She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."

This morning is bright & sunny after the gales, however I see the forecast is now speaking of overnight frost possible tonight, doubt tit gets here but certainly cooler this morning becuse the heating came onHere is one of the pampered birds scoffing my berries yesterday, they love it there because there's plenty of prickly cover to hide in as they wait their turnEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens7

Lovely photos! It's been chucking it down here for some time and some rain today too. I'm still desperate to get finished with taking up more turf and moving plants but the lawn is sodden. Took me long enough to get it looking nice after the move and creation so I'm reluctant to don the wellies and get stuck in. - which would probably be what would happen with the flower beds. The charity fundraiser of plants is still operating which is good because I have some I bought that don't fit in now and I can pot them up for her to sell so I won't be forever looking for a spot for them.I must admit that I spent some of the good weather time out on the moors. Still can;t get enough of open spaces and the autumn colours are stunning plus watching and listening to the stags so playing with my new camera.

The frost forecast was correct, only a touch on cars, not enough to knock down the summer bedding yet, the birds have cleared all the pyracantha berries so now just a green bush. There's a large crab apple over the back they have now started on, wish thay'd start on my snails2P, I think I need to go back to Specsavers, when I saw your pics I first thought they were wallabies
. Can't blame you for wanting to be out walking in the sun and the Autumn colours

It's gone very cold here and everywhere is still sodden. But the sun is out now and I'm hoping it all dries out a bit so I can get on with the digging. Not the best as it'll still be claggy but I fear that if I don't get it done now it will be too late. The plus side is that the 3 pots of chrysanths that were going rotten, I cut those stems right back and up popped lovely flowers. Only the pink, the white seem to have turned or sulked but any brightness is welcome. The lovely big pansies I got from the supermarkets look great but then they've stopped selling plants all together. No sign of the peeps who were so keen and tending them. The tree (prunus purpurea or some such) I planted outside my bedroom window looks lovely with fairy lights on. Yes, I decided that if it was going to be dark from here on I'd string the lights from when the clocks go back. It really is cheery at night.
Farway do you often see wallabies with large antlers on their heads?Have you been picking your own 'mushrooms' this autumn?Catsacor, thanks for confirming why I seem to be very cold as I'm in Somerset too. I don't see 4.30am thank goodness but still feels cold enough.
