I think Monty was suggesting quinces in a bowl to scent the house. I'm not sure Mrs Dusty will appreciated bletted medlars 🤣

I have scattered some yellow rattle seeds in the grass I've prepped. Hopefully some of it will grow.

Ah, thanks for the warning. 🤣

Quinces are something we can't have. The daft lady across the lane retains her tree, infected with quince rust. There's no cure. When it infected our tree, we cut that down and removed all traces. If our neighbour had done similarly, we might by now be able to re-plant. 😭

We can't have yellow rattle either. It isn't something people who rely on a hay crop should plant!

    Weak men. Hard times.

  • wort Dusty that’s a good crop of medlars, are they the ones that Monty waxes lyrical about the smell?? He said to put them in a bowl and it will scent the room .

Was going to say that's quinces, but see greenbee beat me to it… Chaenomeles fruit do the same, if you can't/don't grow quinces (…and grow Chaenomeles 😁)

oh dear 😂sorry Dusty ,my memory might only be connectable by ouiji board !! Here’s hoping lost soul makes contact again, I really miss our conversation.

OT the weathermen were sober and today is dark grey and wet. The cat is still drying himself off.

Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.

What a grey day! ☹️ We have a dank, windless morning here, with the prospect of some light rain for a time, or heavy rain if one uses the 'improved' version of the seaweed seers' charts! 😟 So far, just drizzle.

It looks like Farway is going to receive more than us until lunchtime, but with light winds, those roofers should be able to whack up the membrane swiftly. Once that's on, you're watertight. 😊

Friday looks worrying, with close on 60mph winds forecast here. That'll be the courgettes waving goodbye! Being the start of half-term, we'll have people descending on us at the weekend for one more holiday before winter…… 🙄Hmm, will they want central heating, I wonder? We aren't planning to put that on yet! 😃

Wet and heavy mist here, promised to clear up later but too late to do anything.

Annoying neighbours Dusty. I'm trying to get the ivy from the one who can't be bothered, off my new fence. Can't quite reach so it's a good thing that I still have some of the good stuff left in the garage to paint on the cuts.

So with nothing much to report here's one I took the other day before the rain probably had its way.
