GB: I'm just glad it's poplar and not ash!

But ash would burn better. Anything burns reasonably well when dry, though. We had tonnes of poplar about 6 or 7 years ago and it dried fast. Used it within a year or so.

Never believe anything until it's officially denied.

Oh I'm tackling the Ash trees right now. Just on a break.

Talking of machines the place next door has a small shredder that works quietly 😲 I must get the name of it. Would save a whole lot of hefting in the long run.

Also got the sloes out of the freezer a day ago and they've already gone mouldy🫤 so a trip up the hills this afternoon to see if there are any left after the hedge strimming.

Otherwise it's neat gin - which to be honest I'm tempted by right now 😉

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

    Sunny & mild.

No gardening planned, I have another roofer coming to inspect around noon 😀, which will split the day up.

Shame about the puncture Dusty, always something turns up to mess up the cunning plans.

I did manage to pick a few more outdoor toms yesterday, not quite ripe but will finish indoors

And I ate one of my Elstar apples, it looked the ideal Snow White type, shiny, big & red. And even better, it was super tasty, must have been this summer weather because last year's ones were OK but no where near as tasty. I have read it can be a bit of a Diva and not ideal for home gardens, maybe this is why? I had been contemplating replacing it, but it's earned it's spot now

No pic of the salvia, flower had gone.

However here's one from 2005, when I could walk across rough ground without falling over.

Update, roofer arrived early and had a look. Some new felt & re fix the ridge tiles. Coming tomorrow to get started,at least it's dry for a few days. I'll take it out of the kids' inheritance 😁

Just a quick post, beautiful weather walking in the park today, after some terrible rain and windy squalls over the last few days .

Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.
