Awful weather - typical Brits talk

2p: Been out to put the garden chairs down on the ground and make sure the pots are secure as 43 mph winds predicted so just in case they are right.
We have the same forecast, but it's Friday that looks likely to be 'livelier.' Close to 60mph predicted then. ☹️
Last night's rain has watered in the last of the grass seed, sown yesterday afternoon just as the light faded. That's the new 'agricultural track' complete. If by some miracle we have enough £££ in the future, it may be stoned, but grass will do for now.
We're doing our best not to put the oil central heating on. There's over 800 litres left, so if we only use that for hot water, it should last a good time. The wood burner will run on our own 'free' logs till December, 🙂 and although there's now plenty of rain and wind about, it's relatively mild, with no frost in the foreseeable future.
Farway: here's a pic of my pyracantha taken yesterday, nearly as colourful as Dusty's crabs 😂
Since the ride-on puncture, I'm viewing pyracantha and hawthorn somewhat differently! Our farmer friend taught me not to bonfire wood containing nails, but forgetting to be as careful with prunings from prickly shrubs and trees was probably the cause of the sinking feeling last week! 🙄
Farway, I don't know if your Kong Coleus is still around, but these guys are closely related to it. Not hardy, unfortunately.
Weak men. Hard times.

Extra wet this morning, hissing it down, thank goodness my roof was fixed in time and the washing up bowl can return to normal duties
One slight fly in ointment, the downpipe to drain my porch flat roof is now blocked, it happens, leaves accumulate, I lean out of a window with a long bamboo & poke about to get the water draining again. This time the scaffolding prevents me opening the window, so I have a paddling pool on my porch roof 😱 Scaffolding due to come down this week, but with the weather & storm on the way I wouldn't be surprised if that was delayed
OT, news that brainbox computer whizz kid DGS has just started working with [on?] UK AI super duper computer down Brisle. All that grandad time spent on his bedroom floor showing him how to work from Lego plans & instructions paying off. AI providing new types of jobs as well as removing some. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c9qdlqj4vdxo.
Farway, I don't know if your Kong Coleus is still around, but these guys are closely related to it. Not hardy, unfortunately. Nope, it went off to the fiords. I hope to try again next year if i spot cheap seeds somewhere
No gardening due to weather, I think it's nearly all secure and ready for winter now, I do need to clear the last of the tomato stems but not in this rain. Like Dusty the storm, Adele?, is due here Friday
My gas heating did come on the other day, but that brief spell was it. Boiler service due mid November and Old codger heating allowance due soon as well, very handy this year to help fill a roof sized hole in the bank.🤑
Took this on Monday, could be the last of them this year
