Hmm I forgot to say, you early rising folk should have a good chance to see the meteor shower.
A full moon means it's hopeless at night but it apparently goes out of sight at silly o'clock.

They are real streaks in the sky so you'll know if you see some.
I usually go to our dark skies area but the moon is too bright at night. We also have some high cloud.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

A full moon means it's hopeless at night but it apparently goes out of sight at silly o'clock. It was too hazy last night for meteor spotting, but DD1 caught the almost full moon rising last week. With the vapour trail in the photos, they reminded me of those pp took a while ago...maybe last year.OT: A horribly muggy night here, and my sleep has been like Farway's and pp's recently. About 3 hours.

Filthy clammy night here, I've hardly slept cos there was no air. I was still awake at 4 so I got up for a look at the Perseids but I could barely see the bottom of my garden it was that foggy, and it's still out there now.
Himself will be please to know he's a good heterowotsit and for sleeping on the door side Dusty. I think the risk of madaxezombies is a bit lower here in the countryside, hopefully it's all the city dwellers who have to worry about that. I could eat that whole plate of MrsD's penguins (and then steal the plate if you weren't looking) Little and large ha haa! I don't know about the terminal leylanddii cos I don't walk that way usually. I only did a short walk cos of the heat
Sounds like it could have been deliberate then.
Good thing we're talking about clouds today Less, I got some pics yesterday/last night so they're for you. I'll add them at the end cos they're on my phone.
Not long applied for probate pp? I'd leave an offer on the table and keep looking tbh. Yep don't be shelling out any money 'til the chain has formed. You can ring sols and ask them if they'll take you on/get a quote etc but tell them you're waiting for the chain to form so "open a file but don't do any chargeable work please". A sol you've found yourself, not the estate agent's pet one. Oh and pay the mortgage advisors bill separately - they'll push to add it to the mortgage cos then they get a kick-back, and their £1k bill (or whatever) will be going up at whatever %age rate she got, for the life of the mortgage. Same with the surveyor, get your own one and just pay the bill. I'm still not a solicitor, that is not medical advice etc.
Good to hear you've kicked your drug habit Farway3 carrier bags of apples
I vote that you're our resident baker then when we get a Rottery Acres. A plane is a small price to pay for good crumbles
So we need an airfield + landing strip then really, cos I also want a plane - one like her who did that children's prog years ago had, it was only a wee thing and spotty iirr. Her that went everywhere with her dog
This is not instead of a boat btw, I still want that, and a shoreline. A private one. With sand on it, not that stony pebble nonsense.
Those are fab photos 2p, lucky you had your camera :nodding: I'd have come with you too, nowt boring about sitting quietly and watching the world gently happen around youI second a humidifier if you see one. It's not good for a person being dry dry all the time (I am not a doctor etc).
Ooh those pics look a bit spooky Dusty, and they deffo have a look of pp's ones. How we're not forever on that front page I don't know.
OT muggy and humid and foggy, proper sighing slumping cloud territory here. I'm not walking the long way round to work in that, I'd be gasping by the time I get there. Sunny and hot all day today, they say, sunny now they say  and a top temp of 28' to come. Probably. Tusky says we've the same to come next weekend too. Pleeeease be wrong :praying: Is anybody actually enjoying this weather...?I'm unsure about my spine, I think it's holding me back.6 -
Pics of clouds…… and a setting sun….… and a suicidal cat -Fast asleep he was 🙄I'm unsure about my spine, I think it's holding me back.5

If you haven't got a humidifier 2p, you can boil a kettle with the lid off to create steam (but make sure you switch it off before it boils dry). Obviously this won't help with the heat.
Good advice from YBE on avoiding unnecessary charges PP (and this is a money-saving site after all).
Stinky is off on his holidays today (trial run staying with the dog walker/day care person). It sounds fabulous - walks in the forest, playtime with his friends, swimming. I wonder whether we could swap and I can go to doggy daycare while he does my work?
While he's away I hope to get a bit more done in the garden as it should free up a bit of time. Although I'll miss his company. However, the cats will be happy... until they realise there is no one for them to boss around.5 -
I bet he was Bluey! Imagine being in a fur coat in this weather 😟
Lovely sunset and sunrises you get there. Lovely spot to be.
Dusty that's really gloomy, could be a photo for a vampire film.
Another with little sleep but slightly better, I put a bowl of water by the bed. Always used to in hot weather and forgot until you both reminded me.
Looked at humidifiers. What a range of prices! Not sure about the noise but guess you could have it on before bedtime.
A couple of cooler days forecast ie 21or so before rising again.
Farway you got my share of apples there. Will they keep from this early? I used to keep Bramley through the winter.
That's an idea Greenbee. I've an electric kettle in the garage somewhere. Hope stinky is going to enjoy himself. It does sound wonderful. I used to leave my dog with a friend, lived on a hill by woods, had Rayburn on all day in winter and carried dog chocs and dog crisps in his pocket. They never wanted to come home 🙂
And no, I holidayed in tropics for 20yrs, lived in Oz for a while but everyone wasn't out in it being noisy and it wasn't so dry.
Also had an Aircon room to go back to.
4mts with almost no rain is not fun.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Beautiful photos, from all of you, and just to say I'm taking a break from posting, no bad stuff,I just can't keep upNon me fac calcitrare tuum culi5

I know what you mean, taff, although you'll be missed. I sometimes don't have time to post, just a quick read, but even that might change if/when I get a job.
Love the photos, Dusty and YBE, we really do get some lovely photos on here.
I'll pass the extra info on to my DD about paying separately for house stuff, YBE, thank you.
No Perseids here, twopenny, I actually slept (mostly) from before 10pm until 6am ish. A miracle!!
Warm and sunny this morning, although I know some vulnerable folk have had warning emails and texts about potentially damaging thunderstorms over the next couple of days.'A watched potato will never chit'...2 -
Potentially lol. Ok so it's August and that's the normal time for thunderstorms.
Love these warnings. It means the tows and roads are quiet. Almost no one but a few locals around yesterday because of the heat warning damaging health.
The few out walked in the shade 😉
Oh and yes, if probate is only underway you have time plus. Can take an age to get responses from all the people contacted and documents sorted. Especially with summer holidays.
Then you have all the family arguments to follow potentially.
Working in probate is an eye-openerI can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Yet another one with a restless night, too hot & stuffyNo meteors seen, needless to say once the bright moon went clouds rolled inStill misty / cloudy, but very warm, not quite as bad as yesterday, it was very uncomfortable then.Garden waste wheelie was emptied, I may trundle it round the back later, but having just lugged an Asda delivery in, my back is a bit niggly, so may leave that.Lovely photos 2P, hope the back / leg improves, and you don't become a fellow druggieAnother one here who fails to see the attraction of blow head off chillies, which is one reason I've never bothered growing any chillies.twopenny said:Farway you got my share of apples there. Will they keep from this early? I used to keep Bramley through the winter.I've a couple that are supposed to keep to December time, but not proven because the rats never read the catalogue and ate them early. May their tums ache forever.Only gardening, if not wheelie bin lugging, will be hose on the back garden pots, and any emergency watering can that may be required at the frontEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens4
