I've put my Sweet Williams in pots and am treating them as annuals really, just a splash of colour next to my front door.Oh, that is good news! If you really want it, you'll probably interview extra well.Stick the SWs in the ground when they've done their bit in pots. You should get another year from them.Hmm, but I can't get my new ones to flower!

Sunny with a nice breeze. Ideal sort of day for most things. My back continues to improve and still applying oinkment, I'm at the “be sensible” stage about lifting, moving around, watering, fruit picking, wheelie bin lugging.Watering will continue half a can as required & not routine.Best of luck on interview PP, and well done on the whirlpool, something I'd like to see, from dry landWee convertible sounds good, but out of place for Scottish weather, like the Range Rovers in LondonNow, will it be a Range Rover convertible? Best of both worlds.Nice toms Less, far better than my efforts this year.I was also wondering about the Ana on YT yellow manky toms, mine are not much better thoughDustyevsky said:Sadly, very few new cars are bought with an eye on what they'll be like 7 years hence. It's an early unknown one, doesn't keep, but I stew & freeze. Some of them, including the windfallsNumerus non sum7

Ok so what I can remember, because if I try to do individual posts I'll be forever!
Bluey, I hate my little car. People keep running into it. Box on wheels. But brilliant inside design inside - I have a hidden large drawer my friend pointed out last week. No idea what to hide but they don't include them in her new one.
Congratulations on getting the one you love. I like those swifts.🙂
Thanks for the offer of a bit of water lilly eeeke was it Wort or Taff? But my pond isn't big enough - yet 😉
Farway glad you have your mojo back. Long may it last 🙂
Amazing amount of apples 😲 as do my neighbours which I can see. I have zilch.
Poppy that's great news about the interview 😁
Dusty still loving the green photos. I'd post those of my garden but it's depressing with no flowers and dying plants.
Less, grrrrr to tomatoes 😬 mine are still small and green just hanging on there
Lovely day yesterday, warm with cool breeze, all neighbours out front gardening chatting and I got my fence painted, my bench painted, repaired, pavers and mortar done, new pots for geraniums etc.
Today woke at 4.45 by neighbours son, 6.30 by guy going to his allotment, 8.30 they arrived to resurface the tennis courts, 1,30 allotment guy returns to trim a bush with electric hedge trimmer it's overgrown against his gate. Then resurfacing started again.
I'm soooo tired.
Did manage to prune, dead head the roses. Lots of dead wood. But the noise was doing me in and too tired to go out.
Ot, weather was unexpectedly mild, flat cloud, 5min sprinkle of rain and stuffy.
All prepared for the heatwave that didn't arrive.
So we've gone nearly 4mts with only one briefly rainy day. Nose stuffed up from the dry. The ground is dust. You can have too much of a good thing.
This was supposed to be grey blue 🤔
Yet to be potted up
Trying to provide a bit of privacy from the road but they are all growing dumpy and flat from the excessive sunlight and not flowering from the dry despite soaking watering.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Weather nice, cool breeze, still dry so been busyHere it's been dull, muggy, and we've had some spits and spots of rain. Too much to leave washing out, and not enough to do any good.Throne man suddenly appeared today, astride a large ride-on mower. So, his management strategy is the one employed by rich, townie types who want a paddock, but have no use for it. Disappointing for someone who's indigenous.Next thing, he'll be putting up ostentatious gates and a 'No Turning' sign.
In other news, I heard of a study on Auntie today, which claims people who exit the bed on the left side in the morning are happier and livelier than those who leave on the right. (well, it was the Beeb!) No explanation was forthcoming, nor did they say what the consequences might be if one jumped off the end instead. I was shaken-up by almost being run over by Gregg Wallace in a Triumph TR7 before waking today, so that may have influenced my personal liveliness somewhat more.
In other, other news, I also heard the reason we have more water than most, is due to the size of Wimbleball Reservoir and the way it's connected to Exeter by the R. Exe. In dry spells, more water is released to flow downstream, and then abstracted close to the city where it's most needed. That way, most of the river stays reasonably full.Love your bench, whatever colour it is 2p.And then a few tense months, waiting for the one day in the year when the pears aren't like concrete or mushy! These are definitely not ready yet, but I have a customer for them when they blet. Tried the jelly. Prefer marmalade!Your apples look very edible, though. So do ours, but they're not. Plums getting there at last. Mrs D will wield her saw once they're picked.

Ooh cucumber soup Less... I don't know if that sounds delicious and cooling or sickly and yuck.... is it a hot or a cold soup? I've heard of, but never tried, lettuce soup, is it like that? And I'm not a bit envious of your toms <side-eye> When is someone gonna cure blight?Hmm, quoting seems to have gone AWOL... this was a hot cucumber soup, one of Delia's recipes; I really like the chilled one with yoghurt from that old stalwart the Readers' Digest book of Food from your Garden, but not popular with others...Dustyevsky said:Good to see the healthy foliage on your toms, Less. Not like Ana's on the toob, which was yellow. She claims to live in Wales, yet most of hers were over.
Where the hell in Wales is this tropical paradise? Maybe she's a psy-op.
I think most parts of Wales, at least south of Eryri/Snowdonia, are tropical compared to where we are, but can't imagine anyones toms being over so early...My secret is the special ingredient recommended on here by, I think 2P, for greening lawns
; though I've been using that on the cucumbers (I emphasise on the compost in the pots, not the fruits themselves
) more than the toms - they always seem to run out of steam first.... Greenhouse is such a jungle this year that I have been able to utilise a bucket kept in the greenhouse with no danger of being observed...
Very strange weather this afternoon - after a nice morning mix of sun and cloud (cirrus and cirrocumulus I think - still trying to get to grips with cloud names, a precursor to being able to forecast my own weather in the only reliable way, if online forecasts are anything to go by - i.e., by looking out the window) it turned very dull, close and quiet, with high cirrostratus and only a faint glow to show where the sun was...Hope heatwave cures everyones ailments!

Thanks for the interview vibes
In true bus fashion, I got offered another interview yesterday, so I've now got two to prepare for next week. Double eek.
Unfortunately the sleep vibes didn't work and I've been awake since 3am...
The wee convertible is 'probably' a pipedream (dear me, I sound like Nicola...), but we do occasionally get good weather up hereNo boat (yet), but we do have a wee dinghy that's never seen the light of day...
The Corryvreckan was amazing, but still slightly terrifying at times. I would definitely recommend the 'whirlpool special' boat trip to anyone visiting up here, although I did look like an Oompa Loompa with all the waterproofs and life jacket onBy coincidence, we watched a Christmas episode of Gone Fishing last night where they're in Norway (the scenery was stunning) and they were supposed to be fishing in a Maelstrom there, but it was deemed to be too dangerous.
I'm very impressed with your pear stick, YBE, I really thought you'd killed it off
Dusty, I can't believe the size of GC2 already. Time flies. How is GC3 doing?? And how is their new house coming along?? I can't remember if I said that the probate house DD is buying is one of a few houses the owner had, so it's complicated and she's been advised to keep looking at other houses
Hmm, my DH gets out of bed on the right hand side and is a miserable sod bit grumpy on a morning, whereas I'm definitely a morning person, even at 3am...
I like your bench too, twopenny. And your cream pots.
Less, I remember reading a cloud identification report on the BBC website, but I've just had a wee search and can't find it now.
OT - we're due sun today (where's that wee convertible when you need it) and up to 21 degrees.'A watched potato will never chit'...7 -
That's a good river pic Dusty, you can feel the cool of it
Is that the DGC who was chuckling away to himself about Chaos Theory a wee while ago...? I'm envious of your tip btw, you can't buy stuff at ours. Well you can, they've a separate Household Recycling Environmental Shop (or something) but the prices are hellish toppy. A couple of years ago I saw a tv cabinet that I quite liked - plain pine but the knots and grain were attractive - for £300
It was only small, it wasn't by a name, and it wanted some serious titivating, and it was £300. We've never been back. Himself knows about the prices of bangers slightly older cars with good bones. He was on the car selling sites when I was looking for a Polo Golf and couldn't believe them. I tell ya now, I'm getting a million miles out of my Swift, you watch
Good to hear the oinkment is working and your back's improving FarwayThose apples look tasty and plentiful, they've a look of a cox about them
I hope you've plenty of freezer space. 10 years 'til I get pears! Did I reset the clock with my Loppa from Joppa routine?!
Ah well, they'll be good for the next people then cos I'm not sure we'll be stopping here all that long.
I'm sorry you hate your car 2p, driving is such a pleasure when you've places to see and lots of time to do it in. Could you do swopsies like I did? A large secret drawer would be hard to beat though ha haa! I like your pots too, and your parian ware-ish cat+mouse comboThat's a proper little bench too, could you add a dot of black grey colour to the paint and go over it maybe? It does look comfy
So the left/right bed thing Dusty, is that from in the bed or standing at the bottom looking at it perspective? It's alright Asking The Big Questions, but they never give you a definitive answer do they. Looking from the bottom I'm on the left and I'm a lovely jolly sort all the time including in the mornings, as long as nobody talks to me or says stoopid things or mindlessly asks the same question over and overThat makes me say mean things and then use a bit of bad language
I'll have to look out the Delia and Reader's Digest recipes Less, they both sound like something to tryI'll do it this week while himself is away in case he takes against the idea
The 'Enrichment Bucket' a la 2p is a winner all the way round then eh
Ooh 2 interviews pp, be careful what you wish for cos it sounds like you're in danger of becoming employed! Is there one you'd rather have or are they both good...? Re your convertible, I think what you actually need is a wee plane. Then you can do trips over that whirlpool and be a squillionairess by xmas :nodding: Ooh a boat-plane thing so you can do whirlpool and loch! :nodding: Being serious, did DD get a proper answer on whether probate had been granted re that house? From someone who isn't an estate agentIf it's the house the want and probate's been granted I'd stick with it. Maybe look at others half-heartedly, but only so the estate agent knows you aren't gonna wait for ever and they need to give the sellers a poke for they're at risk of losing a sale....
Well I survived the fallout yesterday which was surprisingly quick and painless. We were all ready in Office Micro Manager's office for a set-to when Big Boss Man stuck his head round the door looking for OMM and said "is this about that thing last week? Have you not got anything better to do?!" So I silently left. That'll improve things between me and OMM, I'm sureI was a bit worried about it tbh but in the end I never got a word out. I don't know if I'm relieved or disappointed
OT 18' currently and a high of either 26 or 29 to come. They say. No breeze today like there was yesterday though so it'll be an oven at workGood luck to all you suvveners with the proper heat and no clouds
Shout out to people who don't know what the opposite of in is.7 -
Walking to work and look what I saw! Also, #Shawshank is catching on in a little car park too -I don’t know what it is but it looks happy enough 🙂Shout out to people who don't know what the opposite of in is.7

No paint mixing Bluey, not since the birdbath fiasco 😁
Less, I was starting on weather forecasting using the birds but they are still AWOL because of the dry, dry, dry. Almost no insects either.
This is all the rain we've had
Poppy those are two places I've wanted to see. You are lucky. Wonderful experience ⭐
Because of the perpetual sunny and dry the roads and rivers are packed out here with cars, parents and kids otherwise I'd be heading for our rivers like Dusty's.
We've got a slight breeze come up and some little puffy clouds so I'm hoping the forecast for heat doesn't materialise.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
