Coleuses coleusi coleii queer leaved things that aren't just as dead any more -Also, morries -I'm unsure about my spine, I think it's holding me back.6

Thanks, no Jeyes fluid here, so I will tip it out the bag into a pot and see if they get eaten ,disperse . Good to know I can still use it.
Needing pots is a nuisance when you don’t drive. I’m going to cadge some of the black plastic pots from work to see me right till I can get some.
im glad your happy with the new car YBE . There seems to be too many bells and whistles on most new items these days , and most won’t get used. I’m looking at you washing machine and tv, phone etc.
Hot of 20 degrees today, with 27 tomorrow and 30 Tuesday 🫣 even overnight are high teens.
Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.6 -
Wall-to-wall sunshine promised for the next few days, and scorchio, hooray, more restless nights to look forward to.My back continues to improve, down to just a couple of winces and one P pill now, and still applying oinkment.YoungBlueEyes said:Maybe the sort of Thai girl that could reverse a car into a garage would be just the ticket Farway, good for any manual jobs you have. Get the garden dug, the gutters cleaned, heavy duty watering done, and your berries picked
Every cloud etc
I love it that da yoofs are putting our Glorious Leader to some use, even if it is only his face
Is back still improving..?
I've had compost go like that on me wort, I just used it regardless and nobody died. It's a bu99er when you buy plants/bulbs and that's the last you see of them. I've lost that many snowdrop and crocus bulbs, I've stopped buying them now
Anyway on my shopping trip I bought 2 coleus from B+M for 30p each, and they weren't even 75% dead! They've sat overnight in my washing up bowl having a good drink and today they're grand. Looking them up on the RHS website first would've been wise though, I probably can't plant them out cos they're right fannies in the cold weather prefer to be warm and molly-coddled  Lovely colours they aI went and bought a Swift too, cos I've given that Polo enough of a chance but it didn't like me.I woz still robbed, probably, but I'm happier now and my car buying days are done. I'll run this one into the ground and then give up entirely. Or buy a motorbike like granny did when granda told her she was too old to be driving a carNow as long as I don't order her from Temu I should be OKI imagine the Temu one would be similar to Les Dawson's Cissie BraithwaiteLikewise, given up on snowdrops & crocus, squirrels are my pestsAnother coleus lover here, in fact this year's, failed, cunning plan, was using them in pots out the frontI grow them from seed, which is surprisingly easy if you don't knock the tray on the floor and don't use carpy compostI grew the Jumbo [Kong] ones, eye bashing with size. I have just one pinky one survivor, pic to follow.I tried keeping over winter but need more coddling than I care to supply, and fresh from seed is much easier IMO, T & M often have the seed reduced, which is where mine came from.Plenty of pots & compost space in the Swift? And Wort's right, too many bells & whistles to go wrong on modern cars.I'm on my last car as well, if only my balance was better I'd go for an electric bike next time, some modern ones are like small motorbikes, but no tax, MOT etc and tiresome traffic regulations do not apply 'cos it's got pedalsWhile hosing the pots yesterday I discovered, and scoffed, three more figs, with some more yet to come and beyond back reach ATMWith back improvement I'm up to half a watering can lugging, so watered the desperate ones at the front first thing and may get round to blackberries later today if all's well

The crabbers have been crabbing 2 days running, Bluey. The result has only been 2 crabs. Both were returned unharmed, though we're not always so kind!
It's logistics....feeding 8 or 9 people is enough without doing crabs on the side!
I found geoengineering was a dirty word on this platform not that long ago, so I'll qualify what I said about that with this:Should go down well with all the solar farm folks, eh?So, the Polo was full of Teutonic sensibleness, and much too staid for you? I thought that when you said you'd bought one! That's like my big van. It's very staid and safe; so much so, the Germans injected a bit of Italian pizazz, by making all the cabin components self-destruct at around 50k miles.
Here's hoping everyone's ailments are easing, especially Farway's back. There's nowt wrong with his wit after that comment on his courgette and toms yesterday!Pictures later, maybe. I must go to the dump soon, with enough green laurel to hide Sleeping Beauty's castle!OT:A cold start here today has given way to a reason for the Factor 50 at last."Everything's just f.....ine!"7 -
Aye I'm certainly happier with my car now wort, and I'm not a bit bothered it's older than the polo was. Well it's only 2 years older and that's nowt really is it. Himself disagreed and said I should have told him first for he could've got me a better deal. I said some things which included it not being the 1950's any more, and he responded with "...and the colour's wrong" Hmmm. Apparently there's grey and there's silver and mine is some barstard not-fit-to-be-called-either inbetweeny colour. Informing him the people who aren't footing the bill are afforded no more than a passing comment on any given subject is "callous", he said
Anyway good luck with your black plastic pots, they'll prolly do the job rightly 'til you can get proper jobbers. If you don't mind plastic then B+M/Home Bargains are selling off lovely looking ones in all sizes for a few quid
I do think there's a way to drive diesels that I don't know and wasn't doing right Dusty. It had a temp turn off if you stop a wee minute function that I never got the hang of. And giving it beans when pulling away from a red light made all sorts of symbols flash (including the orange spring one). It didn't like coasting or free-wheeling either. Or me giving it Italian tune-ups. On the plus side the radio had a screen on it that would give you the graphic and singer/song for every tune that came on, and I'll miss that. Remember the first rule of going to the dump, don't come home with more than you left with!
Yeah I got your reference Farway. I don't know if you're allowed to say this out loud, but the boys out there make good looking girls, the lovely legs and delicate featured faces on them. Cissie BraithwaiteGawd Les Dawson was good fun, him and the other fellah that was on Corrie doing ...Ida..? You'd never get away with that now, sadly
My new boot is a double decker but the bottom half houses a spare wheel, so carting home a load of bargains just because I saw them and want them and they'll fit in me boot rightly will have to be tempered *sigh*
Speaking of reversing, there was a vid a few years ago on t'toob that had me near crying with laughter. It was a girl trying to get her wee car into a parking space you could've fit 2 Shermans in, well the guys filming it from the upstairs window were great wits and their commentary was hilarious. I'll have to see if I can find it cos my god it was funny.
Edit - here it is. First result that D'Duck returned so it must be famous (rightly so). G'wan ye gyerl ye!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tf4TIWECZ30

Blackberries picked
Loads of apples ripe as well, which I'll pick tomorrow, then it's crumble time
And my one & only plum was ripe, so scoffed that, delicious.
I will go to hell because I was laughing at that poor girl parking, felt like hopping in the car & doing it for her.Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens4 -

Sounds like a bountiful harvest at your spot LessDo you do preserves and chutneys and stuff with the gluts?
Nope, we just eats 'em...Cucumber soup today, better than it sounds
Ripening (and some not ripening) toms:Hopefully more to come soon as 4th summer heatwave approaching.....6 -
We've had visitors too, Dusty, so lots of late nights and early mornings... it's been really nice though, with a trip out to a wee island I've never been to before (Kerrera) and I even conquered my absolute terror fear of the Corryvreckan whirlpool with a boat trip...
BBC - View the Corryvreckan Whirlpool off Jura
Other news is that I have an interview next week - this is something I'm qualified to do and somewhere I'd love to work, so fingers crossed.
Hope there are no repercussions for you today, YBE, although it sounds like you have one foot out of the door anyway. You should become a writer... Happy new car btw - I've promised myself a wee convertible if I get this job - a girl can dream
I've put my Sweet Williams in pots and am treating them as annuals really, just a splash of colour next to my front door. No other gardening done and the back garden is still a jungle (even more so now) as I still haven't decided on whether to buy a flame thrower or the electric weedkiller. I'm sure the weeds will have died back naturally by the time I've made my mind up.
Anyway, I know I'm waffling (I've been awake since 2.30am and am suffering from sleep deprivation) so, OT, it's forecast light rain all day...'A watched potato will never chit'...6 -
I was laughing at that girl too Farway, even though we were always told it's a sin to laugh at the misfortunes of others. She didn't want help, the fellah at the beginning said he'd been down but she was for doing it herself *shrug* Anyway mmmm bramble and apple crumble
So is that you back on an even keel now?
Ooh cucumber soup Less... I don't know if that sounds delicious and cooling or sickly and yuck.... is it a hot or a cold soup? I've heard of, but never tried, lettuce soup, is it like that? And I'm not a bit envious of your toms <side-eye> When is someone gonna cure blight?
Good luck for your interview pp - what's coming for ye'll no pass by yeIf I lived where you live I'd be promising meself a boat. Out tootling about on your loch would be heaven, especially early summer mornings before the heat gets up
Gawd that whirlpool is something eh! I've never seen that before, bit mesmerising really. It looks like it would be very loud... Hopefully your sleep rights itself tonight. Could you have a little nap in the afternoon? I think the only way I could be a writer would be to give up this place, I've nothing left in me after the essays I put on here
How's the visitors Dusty? Did you end up coming back from the dump with more than you went with?I was reading about the weather manipulations yesterday, and every page I read it was getting dearer and dearer. I read Aunty last and she reckoned £70m
Interesting to think about these things and expand the theories, but I think I like them as just theories really. Mother Nature will go back to doing what she wants to do regardless of us, I think. To a certain degree.
OT it's alright here at the minute, it's 15'c and I've all the windows open to let the humidity in. High of 26' today but a bit cloudy with it, and rain around bedtime. They say.
Oh and anyone worried about me trimming my pear tree back into a stick, don’t worry, it’s fine (*phew*)
Stuff either wants to live or it doesn’t, and we don’t have a lot of choice in the matter. #ShawshankI'm unsure about my spine, I think it's holding me back.6 -

Most lady drivers I know, are safe and confident, though maybe not always the best in remembering country lane etiquette.
With Mrs D, for instance, I notice a little reluctance to give way, when she should.....
As for a special diesel driving technique, Bluey...well, not necessarily. We had a diesel Zafira in which it was difficult to overtake anything; the lag between pressing the accelerator, and anything occurring, being so long. It was a car which kept one firmly in one's place. However, Honda's diesel engine was a quiet and rapid thing, which would whip you along like a petrol, and still give 45mpg in a 4x4. There was no messing with Ad blue either. Those engines will do 1/4 million miles easily, whereas many modern diesels are breaking at a third of that, thanks to all their emissions gadgetry and plastic parts.
Sadly, very few new cars are bought with an eye on what they'll be like 7 years hence. You tell himself older cars are making a comeback, as more folk realise the future bother that's been saved up in younger vehicles, stuffed with 'innovations' of various sorts.Good to see the healthy foliage on your toms, Less. Not like Ana's on the toob, which was yellow. She claims to live in Wales, yet most of hers were over.
Where the hell in Wales is this tropical paradise? Maybe she's a psy-op.
We got little gardening done yesterday, as entertaining GCs is now a priority. I lured them to other DD's new house, and then to the river last night, which gave Mrs D a few hours to do watering and make food.Today, she's employing them to put up posters for the Autumn Show so I can get on likewise, and tomorrow Mrs D and DD2 are taking them somewhere educational....which might involve a nice garden and some shopping.
At that time, I'll be at DD2's killing the laurel stumps and filling the van with more carp for the tip. Yesterday, we picked lunchtime to empty it, and judging by the queue on our trip home, that was a good move.
Speaking of, "Don't return with more stuff than you went with," SiL bought a Honda lawnmower there for £10. One new spark plug later, it's cutting his 'improving' grass really well.OT: According to the car, it was 24c in the shade when we were down at the river yesterday evening. Even I was surprised at the lack of water on this non-moorland river, which can run 8' deep in winter. The picture below shows the entire flow, with GC2 sure he could make it across without getting wet feet. Of course, he was wrong, but only just!"Everything's just f.....ine!"5
