I was going to say reeds - or wild onion.Hanging around waiting for my T&M delivery. Think the driver is stopping off for tea and cakes at each village!

OT - the BBC say 11 degrees, but my phone says 8 and feels like 0. I'm sat here with layers on, topped off with a long cardigan and I still feel cold, so I think my phone is more accurate. Grey skies and no sun forecast today either - I'll have to do some domestic nonsense to warm up instead...The plant is soft or common rush. Like Farway says, it's the scourge of wet pasture. As for home invaders in the woodshed, pp, yesterday I relocated a torpid queen wasp in ours. I placed her in the sunshine, and in under 10 minutes, she'd gone from apparently dead to flying away.I think it was sensible to read around the comfrey products, but I don't want to say any more.A hot bath came good for me this morning, when a 5mm splinter that had gone into my thumb vertically on Sunday, popped out with no bother following a 10minute soaking.

Thank you Farway, twopenny and Dusty - so the tufty is nothing exciting - it’s the scourge of my garden too, because I’m sure I’ve tried to dig it out before and it keeps coming back.
The slug was like Speedy Gonzales, the way it was moving 😂 it ended up on the ceiling (it had shrunk itself down by about half, which was a bit weird) so I knocked it off with a brush and threw it outside. I’ve probably got slug trails all around my utility now.
And I was talking mince when I said about the amaryllis I’m growing for my MiL only having one stem. I’m sure I was in the same room as it when I typed that as well 😳 obviously not very observant. This is how it’s looking so far - a lovely deep red ❤️
I think the weather speaks for itself… 😉

Strawberries delivered, This Way Up seems to be an interesting concept. the plants were screwed up in a ball together and shoved in a plastic bag so really it didn't matter. They seem to have good roots, there's a lot of the roots and damp. I think a pot and some TLC is in order.Poppy is this your slug?I used to drink Comfrey tea when it was available. I think a certain country force fed it to primates by the gallon for months and found it did damage. So it did damage and became a no go. It was only ever supposed to be used when needed which had been fine for several centuaries.Good result Dusty
Wish my contact lens would work it's way out. It's doing some damage there so I'm one eyed and one legged and half a tooth at the mo. Very charming.
Woke up with all my bits working this morning so went for a walk on the moor. Lots of people out in the sunshine all cheerily saying hello. The bees were buzzing in the gorse which was nice but no birds to be heard yet. I guess they are scrounging food in the gardens at the mo.And my first stop was - A Trig Point! Didn't even know it was there. So one for Luna. With it's top still. There's a number to ring if you see it's been damaged.\Managed to make it with no misshaps then came back and worked on the front garden. I think I may have overdone it a bit and once I sit down I may never get upBut all cleared up so hopefully nicer to come home to.Found lots more bulbs not planted, mainly tulips and they are sprouting so they'll have to go in somewhere.Completely forgot to feed stuff though. Still, an easy job for tomorrow. As you can see, blue skies and sunshine. Quite warm too after the morning frost had cleared.

Indeed, the prize goes to Paspatur - it was a T&M special offer, £4.99 I think, prob bought as a bday prezzie to self in the distant past when I used to order from them occasionally. IIRC it was supposed to be Paeonia rockii, which pics show as having very white petals with dark centres, but mine is distinctly pink, tho' still with the dark centres. It flowers and smells fab every year, tho' only for a week or two, and the fact that it has survived and thrived here amazes me every time, plus that it leafs up so early, and is apparently surviving the c. -5s we're having at the mo...(must have survived worse in the past, inc. the Beast from the East..)....10

A very regal looking Amaryllis, you have there, pp.
You must be a little miffed us southerners have such warm, dry weather at present, but you have the most gorgeous views!
The view from your Seaworthy trig isn't too shabby though, 2p! That's one we might visit later in the year. I see it's possible to adopt trig points, and that someone from Much Birch has done that. Hmmm...not exactly just down the road, is it?About 112 miles. I'd prefer to adopt bridges, because they're generally easier to reach. If I could, I'd adopt this one:
As a 20-something I spent many happy hours fishing above and below here. At dusk, it was spooky and impossible not to feel Britannia was taking more than a passing interest! There's a well-known Italianate garden within a few metres, but at that time its restoration was just beginning.
From the sublime, to the slightly ridiculous realisation that Less's mystery plant was something I battled with long and hard only about 3 - 4 years ago!We decided it had to make way for something with a longer flowering period. Well done, Paspatur! I can confirm it doesn't give up the ghost easily!
It was about 2 years before shoots stopped appearing.
Mind you, ours was bog-standardii, probably from seed and the usual yellow, not pink with a blotch. Yours is probably a seedling from rockii, Less, thus covering the supplier's fundamentals to some extent. Like finance, gardening can sometimes be a murky world!
O.T. Another bright, frosty morning here, with the prospect of 14c in the sunshine. No complaints! Mrs Dusty has bought herself a strimmer, so that'll get a workout."There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Dr Chris Martenson. Peak Prosperity9 -

I love that bridge, Dusty. There’s one I like near Inveraray - it’s stone and looks really old and every time we pass it I wish I could take a photo. There’s another one somewhere around here called Fairy Bridge that I’ve never found and one in Carrbridge in the Highlands that I’d love to see. I should maybe arrange a stone bridge viewing holiday and tie it in with a dry stone wall viewing holiday as well 😂 I know we’ve talked about Bridge Appreciation Societies before and I’m sure there must be a Dry Stone Wall Appreciation Society too 😂
We had another slug in the house this morning ☹️ I didn’t see it, but DH said it was on the carpet in the hallway this time. I’m wondering if it’s the same one from yesterday that thought it would come back inside out of the rain 😂
Yep, it’s raining again and also quite windy and cold here. Sunny in the North East of England… 🙄'A watched potato will never chit'...7
