That snail must be tiny, Farway, or that's a very large leaf    I like the raindrops on it. I used to love the loose cheddar with pickled onion from Morrisons Deli - mmm, must look out for that the next time I go there.

No idea if the leaning Tower of Pisa post is/was a waymarker, Dusty, how can you tell?? It was just off a public path, so maybe??

Rosemoor was sunny, until about 15.00. Clouds then began rolling in from the Atlantic. We were on our way home by the time it went really grey, though.

Yesterday, walking around Rosemoor, I was informed last night would be the final opportunity to see a Supermoon this year. The fact it's officially a 'Beaver' Supermoon caused some hilarity interesting discussion about potential reasons why.

Well, I tried, but clouds and severe technical issues (puzzling camera settings ) thwarted any ambition to capture this  event in full-frontal form.  So, I hid behind a birch tree, stuck one finger over the flash, and this was the spooky result.

The clouds still haven't produced any significant rain, but I see it's supposed to be with us by 11.00. As for the Supermoon, there are plenty of pictures online, and the likely connection with beavers is also explained.

Surprising what you can do with a supposedly automatic camera. I used a bit of white paper partially over the light meter (when they had them exposed) to get a pure white toadstool to stop bleaching out.

I've looked at the garden this morning and wondered how to arrange for more veg, better pots etc but like Dusty, rain is due in. Mind I shuttered all the windows last night because previous one was a condensation on the windows - but of course it's warmer than said.

Did anyone notice that the Met had declared night time at 3pm a few days ago   Another 'glitch' I guess.

Washing out for the second day to try and get dry.

Off to see an exhibition about bee keeping and another on monochrome photography so a bit of indulgence. Short days so probably won't get out for jobs. 

The lawn is all moss and clover from the rubbish year weatherwise so I've got prepared for the gathering of uric acid and may have time to stick a fork around the lawn for drainage. Soooo exciting - not.

Yes, I was puzzled about the moon symbol appearing then. I wondered if it meant we'd be able to see the moon easily mid-afternoon. While that would be daft and confusing, that wouldn't rule it out!

pp, I thought the post might be a waymarker pp, because it seemed to have one part of it indented, and the remains of a notice or something like that on it. It could just be where the strainer, now long decayed, fitted onto it.

Beekeeping, something for Rottery Acres? One of those things needing far more space & time than I have.

Mono photography is something I try now & again, with meh, useless, results. I've just not got the eye for it so far, but maybe one day?

No, I spared him / her / they. Mainly because there are no food crops there, and in a day or so the frost will kill the nasturtiums anyway, so poor soul will be homeless. Can snails be homeless?

Today is the last of my outdoor fuchsias, before frost gets them next week. They are hardy but the flowers will go

Have you seen the 3D stero photo maker? The one I saw was Owl3D images printing 2 photos with one minutely offset and using an old fashioned victorian viewer

The photos were amazing! you could look right through a dandelion head or a multi headed flower - and of course all sorts else.

Aparantly you can also photo something a tad offset but that sounds hard to me.

Dusty, yep, shes a lady indeed and a very vigorous one finally after langusihing for years. For a property you're not keeping? You don't mean you're moving again? Or is it just potential barn selling? I liked your hit and hope moon too.

blimey ybe, that's a proper amount going through there to lift up stones. I'm sure I saw a quick video of that yesterday too, you could see the stones bouncing down the hill in the water.

2P, the sun does come through when you opn it in a new window...and I'm envious of your kale..I just looked up how to make a stereoscopic image...looks difficult...I'll stick with cake

farway, love the beading water on the nasturtium least..maybe the snail is going for a swim not a launch...and har har, can a snail be homeless I suppose it could if you stood on it but then it would be permanently homeless..I do like japanese anemones even if they are supposed to take over the world but they say that about crocosmia which died in my front garden...Plus, I think as well as just going as simple as it can get gardening, now I'm beginning to like the idea of something thattakes over i.e. doesn't need the attention and isn't bloody fussy...

Weather was cloudy with no chance of sun, high of 11 low of 4 tonight..I'd like to put the fire on bu it does play havoc with my chest at the moment so waiting on the sweep to get back tome in case its a fire not a me problem. No gardening, making eight christmas cakes and sitting on my butt instead...I have though finally planted the garlic, field beans and onions. So now I sit here thinking about next jobs...

It didn't rain, but after chainsawing for 2 hours, I had to stop. I was trying to finish the field hedge between us and departing neighbours. It's nearly done, and one more session will finish it, but I was sure I'd complete it today. We've no idea when the neighbours will move, but we want the incoming folk to know that the hedgerow is maintained, not allowed to grow huge, as it was before I began. It would be lovely if they take on trimming their side properly, but I'll not hold my breath!

Monday looks wet and windy, but tomorrow seems to have improved a little since I last looked. Will we escape again?

I agree with your assessment on visiting gardens when it's gloomy, though they do switch the 'Glow' lights on at Rosemoor around 15.00.....and then close at 16.00, so we don't get the true glowing experience for free!  :'( I'm sure it wasn't such an early close last year. We were shocked to be sternly warned to be out by then. I replied we might hide in the woodland and pop out at 18.00, but the lady had no discernable sense of humour and assured me we would be found! No, it's more likely we would be too cold!

We have fuchsias hanging-on too, but probably not for much longer. A pleasant couple who left the neighbouring enclave for pastures new, oop norf, bequeathed us a fine specimen of 'Mrs Popple.' I was delighted... until I went to dig her up. She had rampant fuchsia rust, and that's something no one wants in their garden. There's no cure that I've found which works.

Taff, we aren't leaving here. The entrance we were improving is the barn's, and we must sell that shortly to stay solvent and improve what we're keeping. It's no great loss. By the way, have you a CO monitor for your fire? I expect you have. I certainly find ours reassuring.

Since I mentioned the 'Glow,' here's a wee bit of it. This is the tunnel that joins the original Rosemoor garden & woodland to the more well-known bit, developed since 1990. They're divided by a public road.PS there is a smudgy bit near the centre of all the photos taken yesterday. Got part of my sandwich on my paws and then the filter, didn't I?  Grrrr!!
