Is not hot. Am not mafted. Is 12’ ish. Rain started this morning, and really quickly turned into this -..and didn’t stop ‘til it’d done this -…and this -…so the ‘council’ had a look while smoking fags and drinking shorts to get them going, and we’re at this stage about 6 hrs later -Even the locals were shouting Madre de Dios!Look at that, a wholly OT postI removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.8

Good grief Bluey!!!!! That's all I can sayHope your hotel's dry. They should get the graffiti writers to restore the cobbles. Their work seems unaffected.Wonderful photos UKers. I could happily wander in any of them.Wow Poppy, an Eagle (looks right) and the lake. That's a put on the wall oneI was going to do a bit of garden but it dripped a bit of rain to make it even wetter , really chilly, grey cloud and I'm not feeling 100%. Tried to rrelax but the builders were drilling through walls so I took MrDs advice and went and stocked up.I don't believe in panic buying but what with Christmas bulk buying, (we wait 2 weeks for the store to be refreshed after) and the supermarkets will make the most of the situation so just the stuff I usually buy that will keep.Tried to buy some STollen in Morries and was told by a frantic woman 'can't sell it, there's no one to wrap it and I'm icing cakes' some of the tills didn't work and 3 staff chatting nearby. They really have gone downhill since the new regiemeBuilders still drilling so I drove to the moors for an hour and had it and the deer all to myself. So peaceful and fresh. Even sunny in spots.Amost all the leaves gone now but here's a couple of shots which have plants in themThe stag is in the fog - it's not my bad photography.Photos taken 10mins and half a mile apart.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

That was some storm
, but it doesn't look too bad for you tomorrow, Bluey.
It's improving through the weekend, too.
I thought you might have had some wet stuff, 2p. It looked grim over your way at one point this morning.Tomorrow looks OK here. I'd prefer 18C,though!

wort, I don't know where you're based, but I saw a news report about an unusual bird being sighted and loads of 'twitchers' converging on the area. I love your photo - it looks so peaceful there.
YBE, what a mess, I hope you weren't directly affected. Fingers crossed you have some sunny weather to make up for it tomorrow.
twopenny, I would have gone out too with drilling going on. Looks like it was a wise decision - that stag photo is brilliant
Aurora alert tonight, but it's cloudy and raining here. If you're in the East you might be lucky, although the moon might scupper things.'A watched potato will never chit'...6 -

Arrggh! I've missed wort's post, and yours pp! It must be fantastic to go out for a constitutional and see mountains, eagles, and seals. I know we're lucky living here in the West Country, but your area's spectacular!
Yes, wort's picture is calm, summing-up those still autumn days beautifully, but I want to see what's around that corner!Wort's rare bird report also reminds me of my in-laws, who once saw a Blackcap in Morries car park. I've looked for it since, many times, but without success. It's not a great place for any birds, or indeed for shrubs with names ending in 'carparkii.'

Well it is quiet around here what with Bluey rusting instead of tanning, winter light and temperatures maybe keeping people in bed longer. Was 5c last night, the condensation on the windows starting around 4pm
but oddly, although colder it's sunny in a beautiful autumn way and no wind so it feels warmer than of late.
I've had so many planned dibs into the garden that haven't come off for one reason or another that I'm saying nothing about it this morning and we'll wait and see what the day brings.Bit like this photo! The birch is shining golden in the sun but I can't seem to get that.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Dark and dreary this morning - that's the weather, not me
I've woken up with a headache though, so will be looking to get out for some fresh air soon.
I'm glad you've got some sunshine, twopenny, it's rain all day for us.
We had a male and female Blackcap in our last garden, Dusty. If it's the one I'm thinking of, one of them has got a rusty coloured 'cap', but I can't remember if that's male or female.
A couple of photos from the last couple of days. A post that looks like it's wearing a green wig (the post was leaning, not me)...
And a funny sky from a couple of nights ago - pink clouds going one way, grey clouds going the other way...

It's when stuff there's no peace for in daytime gets done. Evenings mean insufficient power in the personal battery. Mrs Dusty is always catching me, asleep in front of the 'puter at night.
We had ice on the cars this morning, but it looks like the sort of day to visit Rosemoor.Sunday might also be favourable. The good settled weather seems to be ending shortly, and temperatures fall next week, but there's no sign of the 'snow bombs' and other nonsense supposed to be arriving soon....at least not in these parts.
In shadow or not, I must say your greens look healthy. You'll be OK when the farmers decide not to supply the usual outlets for a week!Edit: Found a photo a bit like yours that's recent. Early sun on a mahonia....I pulled the Last Courgette last night, so here it's now various forms of spinach and a few hanger-on tomatoes.

That's a very old post. Nowadays, they rot at the junction of air and soil and rarely grow anything on top before they fail! Is it a waymarker?

Dull, sort of uneventful weather, it's just hanging about doing nowt, which is better than YBE's, sods' law, go on hols, and it tips down, at least you have the warmthAll the photos are wonderful, Eagles, misty stags, multi colours, wonky old posts, suny leaves, all great and varied choicesI went to Morries, via the volunteer place, the two Oaks with TPOs are coming down next week
, so I took photos, just for the record of what there is. I'll take more of the gap once down.
We have to plant two silver birches near the area, luckily all sorted & paid for by the insurance. Not as majestic as old oaks, but in time will look “nice” Assuming Dusty's Honey Fungus doesn't come along in the oak rootsMorries GC bit was even worse than usual, limper pansies and curling cyclamen, even the coconut hair reindeer wreaths were yuckyPlus the cheese counter seems to be stuck on Cheddar, not much variation at all.Loads of pallets blocking aisles, getting all the Christmas tat onto the shelvesHere's my wildlife & weather pic, spotted yesterday in the sunshine, not quite in the misty eagles & stags arena, but Capture the Moment as they sayEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens7
