That was not at all what I was expecting when I looked up Tiger Balm garden Farway
I thought it was gonna be gardens that grow whatever herbs go into the balm ha haa! Hopefully painting your knee orange will be just the ticket
That's a bu99er about the docs pp. Ginger biscuits for the nausea, but can you buy anything OTC for vertigo? Save messing about waiting on an appt with the doc... Hopefully you're brighter today
Tennis ball 2pA few years ago I tried to fettle a tiny wee hole in my back door seal with (presumably) the same stuff. It said to leave it to harden and when I came back it was the size of me fist. Lucky I did it wrong cos I opened the door it fell off, so that solved that problem! Do your kitchen colours look worse in real life than they do in your pic then cos they don't look so bad to me. One suggestion - I'm sure I've seen Kirsty Allslop wrap kitchen bits with a vinyl type sheet then take a blowtorch (?) to it to stick it in place. Would that be a cheap way of doing it? Also - mmmmm jam
I like your lavender bobbins too, effective and attractive
I can hear the craft fairs calling....
Ooh tatties wm yummy yum yumI wonder what your surprise bulbs will be.... You might not have long to wait, I've bulbs trying to come up already that I only planted a few weeks ago
Thanks for the car info Dusty, I'll add it to my listThat's a cracking flower, such a beautiful clear colour
Fingers crossed for Rosemoor today. And if you're worried about missing out on Tiger Balm, just go to a shop and open one and very gently sniff it
but don't be getting any on you.
OT Marginally brighter than yesterday, but still mild and damp and bleurgh out there. Which is the same as it is in Paris, apparently.I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.7 -
Sort of grey and damp underfoot but not raining and not forcast. It is mild daytime though so long may that last!Lovely flower Dusty, what an amazing colour. Don't usually like blue blue flowers but that has just the right tinge of purple to deepen it.And yup, that cat looks fully in controlHaving trouble getting on here this morning. Was slow yesterday but just wouldn't cooperate for a while. Anyone else or is it our weather? I've been getting interference with the telly too. Stuff happens here in certain weather conditions. These people that want us to go all digital have no idea!No expected gardening in the wet unless I spray the blackfly in the garlic chives. Who'd expect that this time of year? They don't usually do garlic.Been trying to sort out more photos from the camera. Here's an upside down autumn one from my favourite photo place.D'ya see what I did there? It's a lovely spot just a short distance away and on a level with seats. Shame Farway can't get there. Perfect for when my bits are playing up. Small cafe too.Bluey, I'm scared to open the 'fixed' door. I've been waiting so long to do it and I fear it will drop out too. A fair amount of sculpting is needed as well.Farway, here's a link to how to make Lavender Wands properly. Mine looked like that when I first made them, and second. Now it is what it is and does the job.She says 25 stems!!!!!!!!! Noooo. An odd number from 7 up and however your patience holds.

Rain stopped and brighter today, not sunny, just brighter with a watery sun trying hardCould be my day to hobble down the gardenYoungBlueEyes said:That was not at all what I was expecting when I looked up Tiger Balm garden Farway

I have an image of Dusty exiting the shop with an orange tipped hooter after poking too far into TB pot.My TB has reached depot about five miles way & arrives here later todayVery nice reflection 2P, sounds like you found an ideal spot. This morning would've been good, misty but a bright hint. I try reflections sometimes, and have been known to Photoshop some if the lens fails to show what “should” be there. Thanks for lavender wand link, that looks way beyond my patience level, mine would be the Industrial style ones, stapled, with a purple insulation tape bindingAnother dream left in the dust of lifeSun is out now, if I do get hobbling down the garden I'll take the camera along, just in case there's something lurkingIn the meantime, here's my Grand uncle Walter at work for The Council as Gardener / Nurseryman C 1920It's in the blood, it seemsEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens8 -
Are you trying to make my vertigo worse with your upside down pic, twopenny - I'm trying not to look at it and much prefer the pussycat one
A Parisian weather forecast, ooh la la, YBE
I phoned the Drs again yesterday and luckily got a telephone consultation later that afternoon and a face to face appointment this morning - viral labyrinthitis is the verdict. I've started on some tablets, so fingers crossed things start to improve - in the meantime I've got U2's song 'Lady with the spinning head' going through my mindI still feel carp, but feel a bit more positive that I'm going to get better now.
Well done on the tatties, working_mum, I still remember how excited I was earlier this year when I unearthed mine - hope they taste yummy.
Lovely flower pic, Dusty. I've got flowers on the top of the plant that I can never remember the name of, but they're purple/blue.
What a lovely photo of your Grand Uncle, Farway - gardening is definitely in the bloodI love old photos.
Apologies if I've missed anything/anyone, spinning headitis means I can't keep going back and forth to check comments.
OT, it's grey again with low cloud, but I can see sunny bits in the distance.'A watched potato will never chit'...6 -

So glad your Dr saw you quickly. That's what should happen when something really debilitating strikes, leaving the affected person and those around them unsure what they're facing.
The side effect, featuring earworms of old U2 songs, may have to be borne Stoically, but be grateful it's not Slipknot or Leonard Cohen!
Seriously, may you be back on your feet again very soon.
Here's hoping Farway, taff, Bluey and 2p are also metaphorically finding their feet again. Here, Mrs Dusty is still not clear of the cough, and after a few hours at Rosemoor, her knee was playing-up last night, so I'm not sure what's happening today yet. Our guests are off to a well-known local NT attraction, but we've literally seen it all before.
It was very mild, like a May morning, when I released the chickens an hour ago. We're still shrouded in cloud, and likely to remain so, with little wind and 16c or thereabouts till the weekend at least. The sun didn't show-up as promised yesterday, so the colours weren't the best, but our most elderly guests (nearly 90!) got around pretty well.Give me 5 minutes, and I'll find a picture of the Cool Garden I took......
Remembering 2p's 'upside down' reflection picture, I also took this. (pp, look away now!) Not as successful, but I tried!

What a lovely garden to start the day DustyNicely framed too.I don't have much to report and it seems others also. Yesterday started of really well then lunch time I got the shivers/nausea and tired so not sure what that was. A bug caught through the ether from you lot?Today off to plan for a busy weekend - why do they come when you most want to just hunker down?I should be doing - moving the compost heap so the rats can't reach the apples, digging up the front lavender that's gone straggley and planting it deep in the veg patch that has developed tree roots in it in the hope of rooting some shoots or rejuvenating and replacing them with the cuttings I bought.Ditto sanding the rust on the outside of the wheel arches on the car. Don't know what I'm doing but it needs attention.Somehow on this grey still day with massive lorries still turning up over the road and bin day I can't see this happening yet.....I'll put it on the listI may just keep going when I've gone over to the village for tickets and head for the moors this morning and see what the deer are doing.Anyone up to gardening yet?

Thanks, Dusty. I'm feeling pretty grim this morning - the tablets have helped with the nausea, but not the head spinning
I've been reading up and it can take a long time for this to clear, with the tablets just masking the symptoms really (or not, in my case). So not feeling quite so positive this morning, but your lovely pic (not the upside one) cheered me up
Btw, I do like a bit of Leonard Cohen.
I wish I was up to gardening, twopenny, it's a lovely morning here. Hope you're not going down with the lurgy.
A cloudy start, but I can see glimpses of blue in the sky and some sunny spells are forecast.'A watched potato will never chit'...7 -
Dull & grey morning, but dry, so that's something. We seem to be dropping fly like, hope Mrs D knee eases. My TB arrived, and I've rubbed some in this morning, now I leave a whiff of embrocation behind me as I limp about.Hope you keep well enough to keep going & checking on those deer 2P,Sorry to hear the tablets are not a cure PP, sounds like it may take a while longer. You could do with my grey skies, at least not missing much. Are you able to watch TV without head spinning?Nice colours & upside down tree Dusty, one for me to bear in mind next Wisley visit, there is a large lake, but I've never really noticed refections there, probably because I was gawping at other things.I did hobble down the garden yesterday, and the &$8&ing squirrels have stolen my one and only pearIt was in an anti bird / wasp net but all gone, bag, the lot. Little furry s)ds.There goes another pearless year
. I was only waiting for a slight flush of red to arrive, then my knee came long and all I have left is a dream of what could have been.
No gardening today, but here's my G grandad Edwin with a prize marrow.Don't know the year, he died age 84 in 1952, so guessing this photo is in the 1940sHe was a bricklayer, so gardening was a hobby like most of usFWIW he lived near Watford FC footy ground & the house is still there, and seems reasonable sized back garden, typical rows of terraced housesEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens7 -
Good morning everyone,
I hope your labyrinthitis is heading off PP - I've never had it but another diary holder on here Foxgloves has had it recently and wow the symptoms she documented were tough. Hopefully the meds will have an impact asap.
Love the broom your relative is holding Farway! I think I must have been a witch in a past life as I love a good broom
The garden pics are ace Dusty - the reflective one is cool - I am just a point and click type of photographer and then can't bear to delete any of them! It's less of an issue on my phone but real paper pics are harder.
I surprised myself this morning as I have a picture of stars in the night sky!! I went out last night to see a jazz band with a friend and got home a little "late"It's only when I went to send a pic of something else to a friend I saw this........
A trip to the moors sounds a fabulous way to spend your day 2P - there wasn't much happening this morning when i took R0meo for his morning constitutional. The dark nights mean our evening walk is on a lead and he can't chase his ball. He is catching some zed's right now (lucky thing!).
OT it is a dull and overcast day here. Quite still but thankfully lots of wildlife activity in my garden keeping me company.
Have a great day everyone,

The TB I have looks like ear wax
I think there are at least two different ones you can buy. Hope it helps the knee, Farway.
Another lovely old pic - I bet that marrow made a few meals.
I can watch TV and come on here, as long as I keep my head still. I spent all day yesterday watching house programmes
Lovely starry photo, working_mum.
Funny you should mention Foxgloves - I came across her yesterday when I put 'vertigo' in the forum search. It sounds like her vertigo lasted a couple of weeksI've got the same tablets, but mine isn't the brand name as it's a script from the Drs surgery/pharmacy. I've had 4 doses now and my head is still spinning, so I'm not convinced it's going to work for that unfortunately.
The sun has come out here and I had a careful little wander outside - two robins were chatting away to each other - it was lovely'A watched potato will never chit'...7
