Squashes Less, tbh that should have been my first guess
I wonder why the request for avatars... what difference does it make? Unless they're expecting people to use selfies so they know who's who
Yep it was me who saw Life of Filey pp, I missed that yorkshire prog though. I'll look for it on catchup this aft. That doesn’t sound like Kissing Dirty Boy disease to me, retinal migraine sounds horrendous. Hopefully they both pass soon.
Oh aye, I forgot to say I don't know about your big-leaved plant Dusty, but I'll take a guess. I was thinking lupin on steroids from the leaf shape - no flowers on it though... Good luck with Batwoman. When's she back from fighting crime laying on a beach being diligent and busy with others' barns..?
Compliance eyes! I'll take that taff, sounds better than chewy brain ha haa. Hope your big none-lieing (sp?) buttshave had a bit of a top up at least. How's the building work coming along? Are you pouring over kitchen catalogues yet?
Cool and humid here, again. It'll either be cloudy all day - sobers, or sunny from 11 ish - drunkards, with a high of 21'c. Much betterSeems like it rained overnight but not enough to make a difference I don't think. Well it didn't wash away the MURDER SCENE I spotted this morning when I was feeding the birds. Lovely neighbour says the Holey Roamin' Terror is alright, so it's a mystery. There are droplets across my patio but no feathers or fluff or footprints... I bet he took down a small dog or something. If he doesn't eat his breakfast we'll know.
I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.7 -
I thought it was salad dressing too !WM I think your garden is looking great , I certainly don’t go for perfection if you are planting round it it won’t be noticeable anyway, I love the pot, is it metal or ceramic ?Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.6

I'd hazard some kind of tetrapanax, that's the only big leaved thing I know though besides gunnera and it's not that
Thanks for the shot glass leveller recipe, I'm thinking to give it a miss though, underberg will do at a pinch..
ybe, you have what my sister would call compliance eyes...Just a side note, my car passed it's MOT last week tooYes, Tetrapanax is what it is.Seems to run a bit!
Underberg is more about digestion, while my concoction is more about arterial health....and cheaper!I don't think those are Bluey's eyes. I need mine tested, 'cos I first read that as 'compliant.' Not Bluey! As for MoTs, all cars pass in the end, or they go to the 'other place' where my old 4x4 was taken last month.

Aye we weren't raised to be automatically compliant
Tbh I've near endless patience and a healthy stoic streak, but when I reach the end of my tether it's every man for himself. As Yorkshire Water may soon be finding out.
Anyway. Still cloudy and perhaps a smidge warmer, so the sobers have nailed it. So far.I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.7 -
Miss a day and just read through 4 pages!! And seems like I missed a few because I didn't see anything about bugs and bamboo. It's comforting to hear about others old cars Farway, Dusty, I sometimes feel like the poor relation with mine but it (usually) does what's needed and people tend to use the fancy ones if they want a lift so that's goodIt's having a new fuel filter - which is what I thought. Fingers crossed. Takes a while to get the parts for the old girl. It's been stiffling hot and humid with cloud so the bone dry garden can't be fiddled with.Put some boards along the boundary as I saw 2 rats run across the lawn side to side in broad daylight. And chopping back my neighbours ivy which is eating the fence. Plucked a couple of dying plants from the back and stuck them in a bucket of water.I did see a shooting star or few just by looking out the back door. Amazing when you consider the light poloution. And the northern lights were a no go because of cloud. It's actually rained propper - but it's going to take a lot more to sink in.Wort, glad it's healing some. Take carePoppy, nasty when it's the stomach so you can't comfort eat the pain
I've had a spell of gastritus from trying to hobble round the garage, shopping etc and not eating regular. You'd think I had more sense by now.
WM love the path through the plants to a secret area there and the pond, lovely pot. Take care with brick paths - I did some posts on it cause I'd like one but apparantly they become slippy no matter how rough. Shame.Nice avatar Imp. Unusual.Had the first runner beans last night with some Cornish Potatoes and butter. Did I mention Tescos do bags of new Cornish?Plums over ripe in this weather so cooking them down for the freezer. I'll do something with them later. Also windfall apples on offer outside 2 neighbours so cooked some down for apple sauce portions and the bottled chutney doesn't taste much once you start eating fresh so if I can I'll make some apple chutney again.Three San Mazano tomatoes sitting pretty on my plants but small and green yet.Had a chuckle in Argos. Man came in saying he'd walked right past the first time because it's small. He asked a taxi driver where it was and was told 'behind you and specsavers is over there'I'm getting a lot of clearing out and jobs done with no car so I'm off to get on with that. It's pleasing not having them 'waiting' to be done.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

A bit of overnight rain, not enough to do much for the garden, but this cloud did have a silver lining, because a pair of quiches in this morning's Asda delivery were in soggy boxes.Contents seem OK so hopefully no sore tums will result.Quick online polite whinge & a full refund, a small win, but I'll take itHope the new filter works 2P, nothing worse than a car that may or may not startLikewise with EML + oil change DustyLessImpecunious said:On 3-wheelers, my Dad, who would have been in his late 90s by now, often (whenever one, or perhaps a Bubble Car was spotted) said he'd never get into a Reliant Robin, or any car with the single wheel at the front - a Morgan would be the only sensible choice, with the single at the back...Talking of batwoman Dusty, I had a Robin in my conservatory yesterday evening.Must have flow through open top window, but not trapped, knew exactly how to get out, no bashing into windows, just flew to the opening, perched there & then flew off.AFAIK there is nothing in there to attract them, but I've left the window in case it is being viewed as a Des Res.
Free P & P plus seeds on offer at T & M, From 69p, worth a look around?
offer ends midnight, 15th August 2024 or while stocks last. Offer valid on specified packets of seed only. Please note, free delivery applicable on seed orders only. For all other items standard delivery charges apply. Use order code TM_TN5149W.I can't find the post now, but someone mentioned the first of the Runners, so SNAP, I had mine yesterday, along with the flat yellow French & some broad onesNot bad from someone who was not going to grow beans this year, then, following a change of mind, the slugs had the first lotMy Broad beans are OK, but so far just one bean per pod, but I can live with that, I'll just have to eat them pod & all

Congratulations Farway.I have an old teapot in the garden waiting for me to hang it for a robin hopefully to nest in.Seems to be a good idea I picked up somewhere as any water getting in drains through the spout - or you can buy a purpost made one

Don't know about tablets, phones etc.I don't think mine does, at least not on my laptop, because it was a reduced file to start with... This is the photo the avatar was created from...Taken in 2018, which was a good squash year - I do try every year, and sometimes we have enough to see us through the winter (well, till May, which is getting near the end of winter here,
), other years not so good - sadly this may be one of the latter, as my first squash are only small bumps with as-yet-unopened flowers - hoping for an indian summer (if I'm allowed to call it that?); have only picked our first courgettes in the last fortnight, and have not yet achieved a runner bean, despite sowing mine earlier than Farway's...
Presumably not a Reliant Robin in your conservatory Farway, confused for a second or two; also Taff, reading about the big butts, thought you were referring to your builders...

Elvis did appear larger, but everything in the US tends to be, especially their National Debt!
$34 trillion and counting.
Oh-oh, is that political? It's certainly factual.
It looks as if Batwoman has come good. We'll get a sequel, which should satisfy the authorities at a reasonable cost.Watch this space as someone finds a Greater Crested Newt next!
The rain finally cleared at lunchtime, and we have lovely blue skies now. I'm off to do some more bracken bashing before the garage rings to spoil things!Hope the retinal migrane has lifted pp. It's all that bright weather you've had, and staring at the sky IMO.

Ha, what bright weather is that?! Actually, it's been quite nice today, but back to rain tomorrow...
The retinal bit only lasted about half an hour, but the headache lingered. Much better now, thanks.
Good news on the Batwoman outcome.
YBE, the 'Yorkshire' programme appeared as a 'suggested for you' after we'd watched the latest episode of 'Britain's Most Beautiful Road' about the NC500. We're going on a road/ferry trip, which includes part of the NC500, so that was interesting to watch and I would recommend it if you like breathtaking scenery
Less, those squash/es(??) are amazing.
How lovely to have a robin come into your conservatory, Farwayand congratulations on the beans.
twopenny, you'll have to show us when your teapot is in situ'A watched potato will never chit'...5
