Are we sure that there is not a party wall act issue here?  I thought it applied for instance if a neighbour was digging foundations within a certain distance from the boundary that could affect a neighbour's building.  Mind you, maybe these people didn't bother with foundations for their construction.

It just wrong in so many ways... its laughable.
What may have worked in the space is a small lean-to roof, just to use as outside storage. However what you've got there is just wrong on so many levels.

The title is wrong, they don't want to attach their extension, they've already done it!
Issues are planning permission/consent, party wall agreement, boundary encroachment/trespass, potential criminal damage..........I'd be taking a sledgehammer to it until the above has been determined.

  • Please come back and let us know the outcome
  • im sorry you're going through this, same happened to my parents, the first time we halted the plans, the council told us they cant attach their property to ours... they took advantage of us going on holiday and built it quickly... we took it to court and paid 3k or more, and just before the ruling they took it down, our legal advisor said you might as well accept it, and drop the case, or you'll incure more expenses.

some neighbours are from hell. but take it to court better than get violent and bring it down ur self

There are few threads that really leave me speechless, this however is one of them. I just hope that the OP takes the advice to consult a solicitor - my first thought was 'sledgehammer' as well, but appreciate that there could be another set of legal issues with that, however satisfying it might feel...

Good luck OP and please do report back.
