Track and Trace Rules - Wrong dates given - How can we get this corrected?

So my daughter met up with three friends two weeks ago (Sunday 13th Sept) for a birthday lunch. The next day one of the girls noticed she'd lost her sense of smell so so she booked a Covid test and had that on the Tuesday. It took four days (til Saturday 19th Sept) for her to get her result - positive. She called the three friends, inc my daughter - this was the first they knew of the situation. They all started to self isolate. Now - according to the Gov.uk and NHS websites - they should do this for 14 days from last contact with the girl who had it. Thats today. BUT - the Track and Track people text my daughter on Tuesday 22 Sept and started the 14 day count from then. So whilst its 14 days today from the last contact Track and Trace are saying another 8 days to go - and if she doesn't follow this the threat is big fines..
Shes really frustrated by this. She knows she doesn't have it - she works in Film and TV production and they test all staff every week normally, and every day when this situation happens - all her tests have been negative.
Does anyone know how to contact the Track and Trace team to correct this ridiculous situation? - weve looked everywhere but there is no help line apart from to report the condition

If you don't find an answer to this send it to a consumer type programme like You and Yours on radio 4 and ask them to investigate. This could cost people a lot of money in lost wages and/or fines who can't afford it and needs looking at.1

Was the contact at a pub or restaurant where track & trace is in place? If it was they should have confirmation of the date and time the contact occurred if anyone disputes it.
Are NHS texting daily or did they send one text?0 -
Yes I read it. The test and trace agents do not know the name of the infected person so someone else might have given the name of the OPs daughter as a contact and they had a different positive date. People need to pick up their phone and the Test and Trace number is widely published so people need to look out for it.0

Given she has done the required 14 days under the regulations, she can safely ignore any call/demand in the next 6 days demanding she stays at home, and in the highly unlikely event of further action she can easly defend any issued fine in front of a judge if needed.3

I think what the poster was trying to say was that the OPs daughter is assuming that the Track&Trace people are contacting her in reference to her friend who tested positive.
There may have been another subsequent exposure to another positive person at a later date between the 13th (exposure date) and 19th (positive result and isolation started)- hence the late dates
I wouldn't think that would be quite so easy to defend to a judge
Although it does appear on the face of it to be that the 14 day clock has started ticking from the positive test date rather than the exposure date3 -
14 day does start on results not when last contact was made.0

If you're told to self-isolate by NHS Test and Trace or the NHS COVID-19 app:
- self-isolate for 14 days from the day you were last in contact with the person who tested positive for coronavirus – as it can take up to 14 days for symptoms to appear
If you do not get symptoms of coronavirus
If you do not get any symptoms of coronavirus while self-isolating:
- you can stop self-isolating after 14 days
- you do not need to have a test
If you do get symptoms and test positive then there may be an extension to the isolation period:- self-isolate for at least 10 days from when your symptoms started – even if it means you're self-isolating for longer than 14 days
If you test negative (the test did not find coronavirus):
- keep self-isolating for the rest of the 14 days from when you were last in contact with the person who has coronavirus – as you could get symptoms after being tested
- anyone you live with can stop self-isolating if they do not have symptoms
- anyone in your support bubble can stop self-isolating if they do not have symptoms
