Green Energy a joke!

We joined Green Energy in May 2020 and they are a joke and should not be operating.  Every reading they take is incorrect as it is way lower than readings taken by myself.  I have mentioned this to them on several occasions and I am not further than when I first raised the query back in July.  They ignore my readings and use their own which they say they are reading correctly.  They tell me that I am reading the meter incorrectly, but I am following the instructions from the meter handbook.
I have only had one bill generated in August 2020 and that is incorrect due to incorrect meter readings. In the email I am advised that I can go Online and view the bill any time however although I can see the pdf link, nothing happens and I cannot open the bill.  I have no issue with any other pdf file that I wish to view.
I have mentioned approaching the Ombudsman but this seems to have gone over their heads as they do not respond to emails.  I am of the view that they are now in breach of contract and that I can move to another supplier without incurring any penalties.

Give us an example of your meter reading please - some of the modern (as well as the old) can be very difficult to read . Watch out for the decimal point and ignore the figures after it  (may be in red)

I'm with GNE and no issues

Before making statements like that, post a picture of your meter here and tell us what you think the reading is.

It's very easy to misread a meter.  The old clockface dials are notorious for this: you probably won't get the exact reading of this one correct !
Modern ones a just as bad with decimal points that are almost impossible to see, and umpteen baffling readings given as you press the button repeatedly.
Just to add to the confusion, a mysterious third party can mess things up even if you provide photos.
  • Have you tried sending them a photo of the meter with the reading? If you're having to consult the meter handbook then sorry but I'm less likely to agree that your readings are correct compared to the industry estimates.

The closing read from your old supplier should match the starting read for Green Energy (UK or .) If this was given to them from your meter and agreed upon then the readings shouldn't be that far off for 5 months worth.

What are the estimated readings you're being given and what are the readings that you've taken yourself?

LOL Sorry. Do not know if this is just a rant or if there is a question in your post?

Take a photo of the meter with the current reading and post it here with your interpretation of the reading.

Would assume its a smart meter? Or one so difficult to read you need the instruction manual. Again photo would be helpful.

And also which Green company are you actually referring to? Green Energy, Green Energy UK or Green Network Energy?

  • It is a SMART meter with a digital read out and cannot understand why posting a picture of my meter reading will help?  They have been sent photos of my meter reading and they never replied so I had to raise the issue with them again and start all over again.  It is Green Energy Network!

Unless its a SMART installed by GEN (you mean GNE I think) or SMETS2 its unlikely they can read the meter and rely on you to do the readings.

GNE do have an issue at the moment with online readings - there's no date field.  I emailed them with mine and they added it fine.

It would help because, as previously explained, it's very easy to misread old and new meters, or to send a reading that relates to a different parameter.

If you are so confident that your reading is correct and Green Energy Network (sic) are wrong, then why not show us a pic / video and your interpretation of the reading?
Perhaps your meter reading is as accurate as your recall of the name of your energy supplier?
