Started a part time temp job today. Will be there for this week. Different type of work that I usually do - transport assistant for children with additional needs. 2 shifts each day - 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon. Will know by end of week if i am required after half term.
Did some voluntary at a food bank between my shifts. Luckily it is very close to where I have to report to for work. Planning to go back there next Monday.Frugal Living Challenge 2025 Mortgage free as of 1st August 20135 -
Hey all!
A spend day today as needed some basics like eggs and milk. Gym - check. Batch cook - check. Recycled old computer and monitor to the tip - check (been meaning to do that one for weeks and weeks) and installed printer on my new system. All in all a productive day! Just going to go for a walk to hit my step count, then back in time for tea and some TV

Confession, the £30 did not last long and this was mainly due to me having to pay a race fee and feeding the hungry one. I did do a weekly shop on Saturday for £25 which is a near record, And I think were pretty much good till Thursday.
But then again I have still done a full month with an average income, done the 18th b'day, sorted a tooth at the dentist and I haven't hit the bottom.
I haven't read posts as I'm too tired to see anything, but hope everybody is good. Can't believe I've got a whole day of PE for cover work tomorrow not a favourite, but at least it's outside so less risky.
Grateful for work, for lovely friends and for this thread full of lovely people.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Today I am grateful for birds in the garden, for getting some stuff sent to mum, for dh cooking tea, for 'old' veg making a good soup, for finding the easiest pattern ever for making toy elephants!

I made the most amazing shortbread today in the middle of my split shift this afternoon. That is my AMAZING for today. Was not very impressed when the first words I heard upon arriving home at 11.30 was 'What are your plans for lunch?' My plans were to make them lunch, and then for them to eat lunch. I also planned to clean the kitchen, bake stuff, prep their supper and go back out to the f/b while they eat. Then come home and make myself food as they had eaten everything. Same as every Monday. On the way home I raided the ys section and now have chinese leaf, hummus, mushroomsx2, strawberries x3, a pizza, 3kg bread flour, coleslaw mix, broccoli x3, rocket x2, 1x mangetout and sugarsnap peas, a thai green curry ready meal and a punnet of grapes for a few pennies over £6 - I am the ys Queen today!Hopefully I will come in severely under budget this week. If I don't, I expect you to all come over and kick me in the shins in a socially distanced, extremely responsible way.Pricked my finger and bled in a tiny bottle for the good of the nation - The Oxford study on corona antibodies in blood. Now I have a sore finger. Mustn't grumble though.Gratitudes: Lovely shortbread meaning I did not buy biscuits. The ys fairy smiling on meMissing the nasty crash at the top of our road. Someone totals their car there at least once a week, just drives straight into the crossing. I usually just see the broken glass and mangled railings in the morning, tonight I saw the wreckage. Hope nobody was badly hurt.Be careful if you are out at night Turtles. Be Safe, Be Seen. Check your lights.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Monday- still NSD 10 as we did a food shop and picked up some bits for the house. Starting to get unpacked and settled in. Although I'm still surrounded by boxes and haven't worked out what needs to live in which cupboards - I love this house ❤🏡. I will need some bits of furniture- going to give it a few weeks until I know exactly how much storage I need balanced against the fact I love the space I currently have. Then it will be a case of finding what I want at a price I'm willing to pay 🤣.
Tomorrow we need to give the dog a good long walk, but no other plans- fingers crossed the rain stops at some point.9 -
Totally lost the plot and achieved nothing really! 🙈 I've had quite a few NSD's but don't know how many; I've done very little of what I intended to do and it's all been pretty hectic! Think I'll just declare this month a bust and try again next month 😉7

Morning Turtle friends
i had a productive but bit spendy day yesterday. i posted my Bay of E parcel, dropped off some stuff at the CS and had someone fix our problem with the TV aerial - only cost £45 and man was here for 1.5 hours which i thought was really goodDid some of my PT work and bit of self employment but also watched TV and chilled too. Did exercise class in the evening via Fb. Finished series 4 of Line of Duty with DD1 and Bf. Today is payday but i had over £150 left in my bank account which would have been unheard of last year (& all the previous years) - i think that is my AWESOME!
Gratitudes - TVs working again at low cost; payday today; spending time with DD1 as we are both off work.
hope you all have a good day

smushesma - don't give up! There's 1/3 of the month left still, so why not set some mini goals, like noting all spends in a notebook, or going for a walk every day...
