Today was not a NSD, but if Mr T is going to reduce the bath sheets (not the bath towels, the bath SHEETS!!) to £1.75, then I am afraid 4 jumped into my basket. Everything else was ys, and as a bonus, the till receipt was wrong by £2, so 6 kievs, a litre of blueberry yogurt, and half a towel ended up being free, as I went straight to customer services and got my double the difference back.Got free apples and pears from a fellow volunteer who has a tree and a freezer rammed full and is practically begging people to take what is left over. Another volunteer gave me runner beans, so supper is sorted and cost neutral. Just going to chill out a bit tonight. Volunteered for five and a half hours today.Tomorrow is designated as 'house tidying day', and while I am doing that I am going to bake some potatoes and while the oven is on anyway, bake some stuffed apples. The temperature is dropping, you can really feel it in the morning now, and it is still dark at 7am. So I will be cleaning and cozying the place up as I go.The only problem is, dh will be teaching and running seminars downstairs and so I have to be quiet. So I reckon it will be speed-tidying to get it all done before he starts teaching at 11.00, so technically it will probably count as exercise, but also nice to know it will be 3/4s done and hoovered so early in the day.Get me, full of plans for a relaxing weekend with a tidy house, there are things I can control, and I am controlling those. There are things I cannot control, and they live outside my front door, and that is where they are going to stay.Mothernerd - grannynerd is angry and frustrated at herself for not being able to do the things, and annoyed at herself for being envious of what you can do that she cant, you are just a victim of friendly fire.Just like in the films, Dive! Dive! Dive!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Well done, f0xh0les. I do love a bargain. Not many of those coming my way just now but I’m glad to see they are still there.Ah yes, Mothernerd. I recognise the Grannynerd situation. I recommend a good scream and a very large gin or any other preferred beverage.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.8

F0xh0les- bath sheets would have jumped into my basket too- and I'm supposed to be not buying anything 😂
Thursday is NSD 5/15. Plan eat the cupboards empty is going reasonably well, the packing however is not! Have been at work far too much to have any inclination to pack by the time I get home. Am aiming to be more or less finished by the end of this weekend.
Had a long phone call with Sky yesterday which managed to be relatively MSE as I now have phone line rental, phone calls, broadband and tv for the same price as the tv and phone call package I have been on so total bills will reduce by a bit when I move. The electric company i am with also supply the new house, and they seem to think my DD payment will reduce to about a quarter- not convinced that is correct so will be submitting meter readings every month for a few months to see what happens!
Nothing else to report, we rarely eat out and I can't remember the last time i went to a pub for a drink so the "new" lockdown (in Scotland) will have minimal effect on my plans.
Gratitudes- the Sky advisor on the phone being extremely helpful, my mum delivering more packing boxes today, home made soup from the freezer.8 -
Today I am grateful for supportive colleagues, for getting to the gym, for dd enjoying her day, for an easy tea, for good coffee, for not getting wet.

facethemusic - my last pub drink was last October when I took us all down 'holes in the ground' for October half term and we stopped at our favourite pub in Glossop, our last meal out was 2 days into February for one of the boys' birthdays.I cannot believe it when I am hearing people planning meals out every week, like nothing is going on, and then complaining about how they can't all go away together on a girls' weekend for ten - apparently they are all being sensible, and these are women in their 50s, not kids! I try and keep at least 4m away from them, at some point they will realise I am backing away from them........4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Good evening all
Had a good day after a bit of an energy slump yesterday. Ran out of eggs and some milk and baked beans and decided I absolutely had to go out and buy some. Right then. Anyone would think a zombie apocalypse had struck. The frozen veg in my freezer just wasn't going to cut it. At any rate - bagged an NSD today!
Today = NSD numero 4!
So I signed up to a free trial of YNAB (an online budgeting app that does everything). I think it appealed because it's a) pretty and colourful lol and b) super nerdy (which appeals to me greatly!) It is a bit US-centric - but I'm going to give it a go and see if it helps me to organise my finances a bit better. I will keep you posted. If nothing else it has been worth watching the YouTube videos of Hannah from YNAB - she is hilarious!She needs her own talk show!
