Morning folks!
@1LuckyLady - I hope your ds doesn't have covid - seems to be a lot of colds going round at the moment
My cold is still in evidence. Been sleeping fine but waking up tired and tired all day. Having said that, I think I feel a bit less groggy today. I'm in work but I think I'm the only one in the office. Still, better to be in than wfh. OH has to go to his brother's to help install some CCTV cameras.
Not much doing apart from work, been using my lack of energy to really crack on with dad's christmas socks. The first one seemed to take forever but I'm already past the foot decreases now and chugging down the main foot. They are relatively big (size 10) and a large size (76 c/on) as dad doesn't like tight things and he has varicose veins on his legs. I've made them ribbed so they stay up though. So the ribbing takes longer. The foot is ribbed on top too. Never doing ribbed socks again
Have a good one all

Thank you, I'm sure its just a cold too, he always goes back to school in September and starts with coughs/colds before half term as we usually go away!
So a day at home it is and the weather is awful so no hardship!
Banking checked and spreadsheet updated.
Got the kids doing some Oak academy learning online
Put a big beef stew into the slow cooker for tonight (should be plenty left to freeze some for another day too)
Lunch will be fish finger sandwiches (as I've been fancying them since yesterday morning and then the day got away with me!
Freezer list updated.
Looked online for the laptop we're after but still out of stock, will keep looking.
Chopped and froze some veggies that were on the turn (will use to make soup later in the week when I have made some chicken stock!)
Thats about it for now. Take care all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Morning all

I was doing so well with packed lunches, 3/5 however i'll have to go to the canteen today which I am frustrated at myself for, as it was sheer laziness that stopped me making a packup.
Going to get home from work and make a quick and easy tea, then do some cleaning, bath then bed. This change in weather has really knocked me for six. Bring on the weekend!
I really really really need to get my act together and list some stuff online for sale!5 -
I hate making packed lunches and now my lg has gone in to year 3 she no longer has universal free school meals so I have been writing a meal plan for her weekly pack up, much the same as I do our weekly main meals. Then I make it while I'm making dinner the night before. Has really helped me the last few weeks and no more trying to scrabble something together in the morning. Also means I'm not over packing her lunchbox and therefore having to throw things away each day!AdsWhoAdds said:Morning all

Wednesday I felt discombobulated, I found the whole day very hard mentally and I could only cope with one thing at a time. I'm not sure what the cause was, I still feel tired today (I haven't been sleeping well the last couple of weeks) but much more able to focus.
@AdsWhoAdds would it be possible to keep something suitable for an emergency lunch at work, useful for those occasions where you have not got round to making it or when you have left it at home. If you can make it something sustaining but not a reward then you would be more motivated to make something and you would find it even harder to justify buying something. I used to keep an emergency tin of soup, a small plastic tub of oatcakes and some dried fruit or nuts.
Feeling washed out, think I am going to go and watch an episode of call the midwife on iplayer.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases

That is a helpfull budget, as it has clear categories. And it is based on needs. I am still working on that one big time, and I would not say aI am able to stick with a budget, but I have been spend ing less than I earn, since I started using a budget about a year and a half ago.
Look up the difference between wants and needs. It is a great chat to have with teenagers.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Just get a job in a college - I won't go anywhere the canteen, as I might have to meet students! But I guess I'm not that fuzzy about lunches. Also I don't like canteens, everything seems to contain mayo, in particular the salads! I bring my carrots sticks from home.AdsWhoAdds said:Morning all
