What small DFW things will you do this week 21/09/20?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important 😀

Good morning all, (I hope I've not crossed posts with anyone!)
Just skimmed through the end of last weeks thread as I hadn't had chance to check in. Hope everyone is doing ok?
I spent much of last week doing work outside on our house and the rental. We've painted the render, emptied gutters/cleaned paintwork, repainted some trelis, repainted the wood around all the raised beds etc. Lots done and I've been shattered but woke with something playing on my mind at 3.30am and couldn't get back to sleep unfortunately
Todays list (making the most of the nice weather before the forecasted change tomorrow )
Help my dad try replacing a part of the window at rental house (fingers crossed it works no problems as its kept me awake! Hoping to do this first thing when he arrives to stop me stressing!)
Give one of the raised beds another coat of paint as the wood hasn't covered as well as I'd have liked
Check banking/update spreadsheet
Paint wooden gate (it always swells in the Winter
)
Cook joint of pork for tonight - will do in convection micro as its much quicker
Rm survey to post and pack to prep
Make sure dh books his flu jab (letter came two weeks ago!)
Make boys lunches for tomorrow at the same time as I make mine and dh's lunch today
Order more render paint whilst on offer and pick up some fence paint at the same time..
If I do.. I'll go through tvb
That's enough to be going on with, the day all depends on how the window goes!
Take care all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Morning all
Thanks for starting us off 1LL
Up early, been for a decent dog walk and had breakfast, one more coffee and I must get on. OH is playing golf this morning, so I can wash the kitchen floor without him suddenly appearing from the workshop and walking across it. Must get it done before he gets back! Other plans:Label and put away the chutney I made yesterday, and put the recipe, which I copied out, in my folder, as I will definitely be making it again!Pack an ebay item ready for postingUpdate shopping orderCheck what needs harvesting in the gardenSome watering will be needed, as it is very dry here. Shouldn't moan, it will be wet and cold soon enough.Minimal cooking, I made enough enchilladas (thanks DNMS) for today as well
That is all for now, might add to this list as the day progresses

Hey all. First time posting on DFW but i'm very motivated!
Plan for today so far:- Advertise an item of clothing online
- Start to think about ad-hoc expenditure in October which i need to build in to my budget, Car MOT/Service for one!
- Meal plan and do a full food shop for under £30
- Start day 1 of gratitude journal, I want to start being grateful for what I do have instead of resenting what I can't have, because paying off my debt is more important...

Some mindset to stop spending, some financial:1. Yolt everyday
2. Make most of long weekend but not spend more than £100
3. Activity with son everyday
4. October budget
5. 3x workouts, 3x 5km
6. Plan weekend in advance
7. Switch off work number/ email apart from twice a day to check when off7 -
why not really challenge yourself to £30? £100 is more than our family monthly leisure activities and it's not too shabby. That could be an extra £70 towards debtalt80 said:2. Make most of long weekend but not spend more than £100DF as at 30/12/16

1LL thanks for getting us started. Just hoping for 3-4 NSD days this week, as am now scratching at EF to pay a bill. The sin of buying books for teaching last week. Looking forwards to them showing up though. And fingers crossed for cover work tomorrow, as could do with a bit extra before anymore lock down!Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%
