I'm going to sound really boring but I'm a water drinker at home. Even if I've got an early start for work, I still drink water not coffee. In the office it's water. After a long hard week at work, it'll still be a glass of water with my dinner.
The only time I don't drink water is when I'm going to social events/going for dinner or to a bar. In an ideal world I'd still get tap water in these places too but that's sort of frowned upon so I'd rather not get judged like that. FYI I'm not just drinking water because it's cheap but because it's healthy too and I don't find it bland and boring.

Anyway at a pub what's the cheapest drink you can have - both alcoholic and non alcoholic (excluding water)?

Haha - just seen the (excluding water) bit at the end. Sorry; ignore last.

I remember a time I could go to the pub and get merry on £10, 5 vodka and cokes 😂👍

Back in the day when I used to work the odd bar shift, it always used to be that a punter could order tap water for free - think it may have even been a condition of the publican's licence, but not sure. Is it not the same anymore?
Yes all venues serving alcohol must also offer free drinking water.

Spoons have a dispenser for iced water on the bar to serve yourself, so is free.

A pint of coke is not always the cheapest on the price list but it is often the best value for money

try orange squash & bitter lemon,    or soda water and blackcurrant and/or lime.

I mostly drink water when out:
    • I don't like the taste of artificial/alternative sweeteners, so that cuts out most soft drinks.
    • I'm typically driving, so I don't want alcohol.

I think alcoholic your best bet is a vodka and soda? Perhaps there is a cheaper spirit but I cant think of one that would go as well with soda. Then non-alcoholic has got just be a black coffee surely.
  • Another vote for lime and soda here for the none alcoholic option
