My local Spoons currently selling a pint of Greene King Ruddles Best bitter for £1.29 a pint.
    It's a shame that it's in a Spoons though.....
Oh yes, the owner is an bit of a pillock but I have no morals.
Due to his views on brexit or furlough? I think brexit was personal opinion and furlough what I actually heard was he was keeping the jobs open but gave staff the choice to work elsewhere until he could bring them back, but people saw that as him just wanting to fire people.
The former, but I just dont read his magazine whenever I am in there and his views dont affect me.

The furlough thing got misreported and blown out of all proportion.

Sorry but when I can pay £2 for a pint of Magners in there, or go up the road and pay £3.75 for the same thing, its a no brainer.
  • Whatever your views and opinions of the guy - his still manages to pack his pubs with willing punters
  • I usually go for a lime and soda when I'm not drinking alcohol – prices range from free to £3.50. Madness. I think £1 is fair. Just to pay for the space I'm taking up.

Depends on the pub. Some Wetherspoons have pints of ale at £1.99 or less, if you like beer.
Pints (halves even cheaper) of beer/cider will usually be the cheapest alcoholic drink. spirits often work out relatively expensive. If you are drinking beer then "craft" stuff will be expensive, avoid IPA and similar. Lager is often cheaper and ale can be cheap.
As others say soda and cordial will be one of the cheapest soft drinks.
Pepsi/Coke prices have crept up a lot and the full sugar varieties will cost more than diet/max/zero due to the sugar tax. Bottled water can be similar price to cola.

Soda water and lime is what my mother drinks but some pubs seem to have a minimum price for soft drinks and they are not much cheaper than beer.  As has been said, check the price list or ask the bar person what's their cheapest drink.
I recently went to Dibden Golf Club in Hampshire, just an average pay and play course, nothing special, I ordered 2 Lime and Soda's £6.80p  :( what a complete and total rip off

Don't worry OP you now have a month off from not buying a drink in a pub.

Cheapest pub I ever went in was the Sam Smith's in Withington (Manchester) which sold a pint of Mild for £1.37 (circa 2015) but was a rather depressing sort of place and I understand it closed in 2018.
