Virgin is. O2 cpw are the b*****s.0

I spoke to the retentions dept of CPW O2 today, and they offered me £360 credit added to my account, 400 minutes and 500 texts, on a sim card only deal. This will mean that I'll pay £5 a month for what they'd normally be charging me £35 a month for. The guy seemed pretty genuine, gave me his full name and extension no. and promised to send out a letter with this deal on it within 5 days.
Didn't have too much trouble getting the address for the PAC code from the customer services department yesterday, and even though I was wanting to leave, I figured I probably wouldn't be able to get a better deal easily elsewhere. I just hope they don't !!!! it up.0 -

......and the new contract length is?0 -
Last night, the call to me never came, although I didn't really expect it to, or indeed want it.
I managed to get through and spoke to the chap, and explained the situation regarding stress and diabetes for my wife.
He seemed helpful and give me the adfrerss to write to, in London though, not Southampton as was the case for the two phones in my name,
The leter will go off today, recorded delivery.
I cancelled my phones on or about 29th December, also recorded delivery, asking that I receive official notification, but I've heard nothing yet and it's well over a week.
Should I be worried ??
Maybe worth phoning up again0 -
Don't use recorded as they rarely sign for the letters, splash out and use special delivery instead as those seem to get signed for.
I'm just waiting for my letter to show as delivered today and then I'll be phoning again..so wish me luck!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Just me again!
My letter arrived with CPW today tracked online so I phoned them and explained I wanted my PAC.
I got the usual run around from 'you have a new contract' to 'sorry we don't seem to have your letter, then I explained to them that I was already in communication with ofcom and had online proof that my letter had arrived, and suddenly they were more helpful. I was told I could have my PAC but that it would take up to 20 minutes to be generated. They confirmed my home telephone number and promised to call me back in 20 minutes at the outside...that was 30 minutes agoI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. This is absolutely terrible. Nobody should have to put up with this. I can tell you that I am in communication with OFCOM about these antics from CPW and I will post whatever detail I can when I get it from OFCOM.0 -
Their shares dropped more than 10% today. Shame!0

Stevie,I got a reply from OFCOM but they just seemed to be heading the ball and recomended if i had any problems to take it through a consumer quango.
How come you guys seem to be able to get through to talk to someone?
How long do you have to stay holding on for?
I see the guy that used to be in charge of OFCOM is now directing policy at NO.10 Downing St.0 -

Yes OFCOM are often adept at shunting problems out of their court. But clearly, they are the telecoms regulator and they must be seen to act. I will be pressing them further.0
