Pick yourself up and start again from day 1 @alt80. Go back to rehab if you need to, but the version that’s covered by your healthcare this time not the all inclusive holiday version.
Something broke for you around the time your wife bought the ridiculously expensive dress and realised a footballer was no longer an option. I think something happened then that you didn’t want to write about but you may need to discuss with the pros.
Onwards and upwards!3 -
@stymied I’ve used more than once over this year tbh just couldn’t admit it to myself and told myself it was just a bit. Not been just a bit for a few weeks now. Today first in a while I’ve not touched it at all and tbh we are back to spending more than earning. Was from around then. Anyway thank you.3

I still think that changing your financial arrangements so that neither you nor your wife have immediate easy access to such large sums of the bank's money would be a sensible financial move. I know you have been resisting this, for ages - but think being without the comfort blanket of such money access would be wise, as it clearly does just get spent. Your intentions and wishes aren't working - so try something else. It is probably a long time since either of you had the 'running out of money before the end of the month' experience, but I think you would financially benefit, and could set the limits at a realistic and comfortable level.
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

@theoretica thank you also thank you for your non-judgmental advice. Things not horrendous on the debt front but I know the balances are creeping and I’m avoiding dealing with it apart from one month which we did quite well to sort. I know where you’re coming from re the bank’s money fwiw I think you’1

@alt80 you have got out of this before and can do it again. Please get help from the pros for your family's sake - and that includes you. Love Humdinger x2

I am absolutely heartbroken for your son, no child deserves a junkie as a parent.
I have 2 children in private education and I will be absolutely stunned if no intervention is made by the school in the near future. Thats also if no-one on here reports you to social services first.
I am sure you think building your business for him will create a great future for him, unfortunately I see his future as very bleak.
Good Luck in your future decisions0 -
Good luck Alt.I hope you find the peace you need to beat this addiction and get the right balance in your life.I think we all saw the change when you stopped adding the count to your posts.Take care.September 2017 Debt = £25330
Starting afresh.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x3 -
i agree that this thread should be closed. Have had my suspicions that you were using again for some time. Professional long term support is your best option not a money saving thread. Hope you can do it both for you and your son. Good luck1
