18 weeks - brilliant
So glad to see you are climbing back up the slippery slope of the last few weeks and facing the various issues head on.
You will get there - 18 weeks clean is a long time but in terms of all the life changes as well 18 weeks isn't long at all. Hope the GP was able to help in some way and glad that you're resolved to go to Greece. Your old habits are dying hard but each time you turn yourself away from them again is a success.
Keep going @alt802 -
Day 126 / 18 weeks thanks all.
Wrote a fairly long reply to lose it ha. Had a really decent day today both work and family time busy and so whacked now I’m not going to respond properly, going to go to bed. Had session with pros and a video that really resonated about moving on not getting to point it’s willpower only any everything else is a really negative mindset. I need to work on applying that to both habits - not having my card shouldn’t be what I rely on for both addictions.3 -
Day 127, better nights sleep and spoke to my mum and dad this morning who are really looking forward to seeing us. Busy weekend planned taking my mate out for lunch who’s running us to the airport as well as pumpkin picking far too early because we’re going to Greece end of next week. Going to get work done and leave my laptop at the office will still have my phone/ iPad to check in but I’m going to try to get some rest from it like people on here pros think it’s a good idea.5

I think leaving your laptop at the office is a good idea to better define your work and family/leisure time. We all need to recharge our batteries to work productively.
As you and the pros say at some point you will need the self discipline to say no to destructive spending and other bad habits and not rely on just the obstacle of having no card to spend. You know your decisions are better when you are clear headed and you know what your financial goals are and how daft crazy spending stops you reaching them.

Enjoy the pumpkin picking.2 -
Planned out the weekend seems to have helped.
In the lead up to the trip need to wind down from the fee earners and get everything in place so the business runs itself again for a couple of weeks.
That is what your people are for......

have a good break and enjoy some winter sun. I know you have a lot to repay and save up for, but don't stint yourself too much if you fancy something like boat trips or even a motor boat hire, then that would be great fun. still remember going water skiing so that or inflatable riding will be a whale of a timeI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine3 -
Well done on day 127, brilliant achievement 🥳 You really are in need of some downtime so hope you use the time in Greece to regroup and relax.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Day 127 through so we’re into the 19th week. Hardly had time to think today but does mean I’m free for the weekend. Also had my sister call today had a decent conv with her first since before I went to the rehab. Will be just about on Greek soil this time next week been a long time, my son really can’t wait he’s got a countdown on his calendar in his bedroom. Can’t wait to see his grandparents and can’t wait to be by the sea. Have let him give me the bug this evening - I’m trying to be less anxious about it generally.
I left the laptop at my office. Had my iPad and know I’ve got access so I’m ok about it. My secretary is big on the work life balance she said to me I should rest this weekend and spend the 2 weeks we are away resting lie on the beach and listen to the waves she said haha.
Thanks all. Yeah I know the crazy spending only messes things up for myself, it’s self destructive so are a lot of habits I got into. Not just talking about the really bad habits but negative thinking etc. Very difficult to pull myself out of it a lot of the time. I need to though, keep going. Todays cal was ‘make some progress on a project you have been avoiding’ first thought was something work related. Got something done on a job I’ve been trying to put off but also worked on some therapy stuff I had definitely been avoiding. Son’s made me laugh he put his books in alphabetical order ‘just as he’d been meaning too’ !!!!!! hilarious how serious he was about it too. In-laws washed their car has to happen once in a blue moon fml.
Re wind down yeah I’m office based for my 4 days next week, well 3.5 days really. Already planned lol. Re boat trip we were hoping to have a day trip by boat to another island. Son also can’t wait to go on the ferry to where parents live.4 -
That’s brilliant news you’ve spoken to your sister, hopefully now you can stop fretting about itSealed pot challenge 822
