Maybe something like a Caxton card would be useful? Mrs Alt can keep the password and transfer money over as required. It also cuts out the need for you to have one of your own cards if you want to be seen to pay for a meal and then you arguing the toss with Mrs Alt that you don't need to give your own card back to her because you think that you can be trusted..... If you want to take it even further you could start a GoHenry card for your son so he could pay for things sometimes - maybe just ice creams on a day out but it's all a learning experience. I opened an extra current account on my main bank account and gave my son that card until he was 16 (because I'm mean and that way was free) but same concept. He knows how to handle money, check his balance etc. They're never too young to learn, especially if you envisage him going into business with you when he's older.3

@RelievedSheff I am looking forward to it in a way tbf just a bit concerned I’ve had too much time off generally so far this year esp when wife planning more lol.
@CRANKY40 I need to get to a point of trusting myself tbh current train of thought over the rest of the year I’ll ‘release’ the company cards first then personal current account and my usual spends credit card. I don’t care about paying for lunch haha really not the end of my !!!!!! world to have the wife paying for lunch and filling my car with petrol ha.
Re son I know where you are coming from just not something I need to be concerned with rn- enough on my plate. Get my head in a bit better place, park it until he’s getting towards an age he starts meeting mates on his own end of junior school or something.
@Grumpelstiltskin at least you got a lonely one - I have none ha. Son still likes growing his cress though lol have promised him when we get back from York we can have a look into growing some herbs etc for cooking. 👍 thank you.0 -
Herbs are dead easy.
How about some carrots and beetroot or radishes?
They are all really easy. If we can grow them anyone can 🤣🤣🤣4 -

Day 20 through. Think I’ll be in bed early tonight hopefully no waking up.@RelievedSheff / @Sun_Addict 😆 love how you’re assuming I’ve got green fingers ha. I am not good at growing plants at all. Wife isn’t too bad. Assume the veg is for next year now or will not produce anything before the winter?1

Beetroot is definitely still possible to grow. As are salad leaves...to go with your chicken salad!#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3661

It’s only June, my veg will be ready soon. I’m not green fingered at all. I love sitting in a nice garden but not so keen on the work that goes into it 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

There is one plant you can set seeds right through the summer that you can pick through the winter and spring. That 's Chard especially Rainbow Chard.
Easy to grow only bit of work is to thin the seedlings out when they germinate. It's a plant you can pick leaves when you want them and it keeps coming.
Some seeds here on E Bay.
