By Jove I think he's got it. Well done Alt (and family) you are all working so well together. Keep it up. Being busy in the garden will mean no time for shopping

Today's posts are brilliant to read, alt, love the way lots of things seem to be clicking into place now in your thoughts and of course that is great for you and your family.
Plus well done for 3 weeks!!5 -
Lightbulb moments aren't just for finances. Congrats on today's one 💡💡💡5

There's a green fingers section, we all chat about what fruit, veg and flowers are growing in our gardens, some have allotments. The great thing is we have time to focus solely on whatever we are tending to at that moment. I can watch bees going from flower to flower for hours.
It's not a sign of getting old, it's a sign of appreciating what's around us.

Thanks all I am trying to put everything into place that I did at the rehab - didn't pay the money for nothing hopefully lol. Also said many times I want the best for my son and I do even if I am what some people on here think - horrible on coke and horrible off it. If that's what I am I still want the best for my boy and he won't get that if I'm binging on drugs and breaking my word to him. I've spent time reading about the affects of addiction on children and I don't want that for my son. Also spent time reading about the affects of it on partners and I don't want that for my wife. I might be horrible idk and deserve nothing more than the worst things in life for myself but I have a family and I care about them a great deal. Would be nice for me to be able to say I managed to give them a secure future financially too and the possibility of that isn't too far fetched. However I need to ensure I position my business to be less reliant on me and sort out my personal finances stop the binge spends and if anything happened to me not leave her with the business of dealing with my extensive debts.
Clearing off a bit of work before I go to bed. Busy weekend planned. Bit apprehensive about leaving home idk always am when I go away anywhere, strange I know.
Wife made lasagne this evening really nice but I've eaten like a pig again too nice then, think my Mrs was truly disgusted when I went back for seconds ha. Not gonna lie I am a bit paranoid I'm going to start putting on weight if I'm not careful. Still haven't lost the 2.5kg I put on at the rehab not gained anymore but I don't spend enough time in the gym to put it down to 2.5kg of muscle gain either. Point is I need to stick with the chard and leave the cheese sauce fml @foxgloves def sounds nice though. I do like cooking usually only get to do it a couple of times a week max but I enjoy it will def look for the garlic, put it in my garden doc thanks. NG pigeons ha yeah they do seem a little less brave than ones in some other cities Birmingham and London ones are !!!!!! scary or were the last time my wife and I went.
@MovingForwards will have to have a look if they accept novices. I get the focusing on tending to at that moment looking after my home and cars got me through the first few days knew I had something to focus on, achieved something by the end. I like watching the bees in my garden too. Suppose I want to be safe away from people and things leading to temptation and within my home and garden getting jobs done I am.5 -
Your posts are sounding really great and like something has finally clicked with you. I would just like to hear you stop running yourself down and thinking people don't think you deserve a decent life. You do and stick clear of the bad stuff and negative thoughts and you will hopefully get there. Definitely a lightbulb moment re your mate too.

Hi Alt - really happy to read your posts and hear how things are starting to chime with you.
It’s easy to overthink these things, but most people don’t stick around to poke a sharp stick at you - it’s because they can see that you are someone who is in pain, but with lots of potential. Time to increase the self reflection that you’re doing rather than self recrimination.Hope that your trip goes well - we’re self isolating this weekend as I have a minor operation next week! Enjoy.4 -
@alt80 my garden is my safe place, my own little world, where I go just to find time to breathe, all the stress of the day melts away and I'm me. Sometimes a kettle is boiled on a little camping stove and I sit savouring a decaf, other times I'm carving some soil trenches for sowing seeds or making holes to put the plants in I've grown in the flat.
The feel good / achievement factor kicks in as seeing seedlings starting to pop up, watching as they turn into plants and in time picking what's going with tea that evening. Metaphorically running upstairs, so proud of what I've got and how it grew from something a few mm in size.
We all started somewhere, no one is born knowing how to grow fruit and veg, yet we learn while going along, either by trial and error, reading books or looking online at how to do it.
Try it, you've nothing to lose and potentially everything to gain.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.5 -
Last of the work for the week done. Probably need to learn to relax and just do a bit less if going away rather than squeezing 5 days into 4 really ha. Went to an awful place today and been bitten to pieces by something dread to !!!!!! think what, all part of the joys of being in the property game.
@enthusiasticsaver / @Allikat86 thanks. Hopefully I will get there keep doing the right things and the therapy. I can't really imagine having a greater sense of self worth but equally hope it is possible. People in my recovery group say they got there so idk seems possible.
@Allikat86 Hope everything works out ok with the op. Who'd have thought the phrases 'self isolating' and 'social distancing' would have become so widely used a couple of years back ha.
@MovingForwards You get it lol I love my home in the same way. Not sure how much land you have that you need a camping stove though haha my garden isn't a bad size to say how close I am to the city but I don't need a camping stove though I build that tree house my son would 100% love that ha given me an idea build and camp out in the treehouse lol.
I def have nothing to lose will take a look after the weekend. Maybe a new hobby and my son will like it. Thank you.4
