@Sun_Addict you and me both. Mrs looks after the lawn, usually plants some flowers in the borders think she does that once a year idk tbh not something I’m good with; it’s my son who likes the idea of eating the stuff grown. Will have to buy him a !!!!!! smallholding at this rate when he’s older. Pay well into six figures for his education thinking he could be the next PM or something and he’ll go and !!!!!! about harvesting potatoes for a living knowing my !!!!!! luck lol.

All sounding a lot better just keep ploughing through with busy days.

Great weekend to look forward to.

We are on a mini break and I still have sleep issues, staying somewhere we know and upgraded room but it is next to the church.

Wake up after the hour you get a ding dong on the 1/4.

Get unlucky just before the hour, ding dong ding dong ding dong ding dong ------- DING (one for each hour).

People say some things are easy to grow but radishes have failed every time for us.

maybe we get lucky this year.

Beans do work in our patch if we keep them watered but a bit of effort sorting something for them to climb, do Runner and French.

Outdoor tomatoes seem to work well if you have a sunny wall.

@Grumpelstiltskin genuinely never heard of that stuff I don't think but for £1 it's gone in the basket son will like the colours ha. What do you eat it with?

@getmore4less I'm doing ok mate, keeping busy. Hope you're well? I am looking forward to the weekend in a way tbh. Too busy not enough hours in the day, like old times rn. Actually subject of old times you deserve a thanks from me; had a meeting this afternoon with someone you prompted me to get back in touch with - good mentor to me in the early days. Sincerely thank you.

Hoped for a long time my sleep issues were purely the stimulants but even as a kid I didn't sleep well so that's probably wishful thinking on my part. Fml re being next to that church on your break has raised a smile tbf but equally know how !!!!!! something like that is when you sleep as badly as I do.

A couple of weeks back I went in to wilko, bag of onion sets 20p

If they don't make an onion they have nice heads(allium family) if you let them go to seed.

Great to here you are networking with the old mentor getting good people back in your life is a very positive step.

You could grow the beetroot and pickle it for Xmas presents from your son to his grandparents at Xmas ?

We are not green fingered in the slightest but even we have managed to grow beetroot and carrots. Juries out on whether the parsnips will survive, they have been attacked and eaten by something and don't look very well anymore.

Herbs are another easy one. We bought small plants from the garden centre for a couple of quid and they are all doing really well now.
  • Chard is an upmarket vegetable. What I do with it is steam it, we often have a mixture of vegetables, so I would start off with maybe carrots, broccoli, cabbage and add the chard leaves and stems ( you do eat the stems as well) for the last 10 minutes of cooking time.
It does feature in recipes from well known chefs.
Then serve it with whatever meat you are having, roasts, pork chops etc.
If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.

Day 21 - three weeks off it hopefully keep on doing the right thing spend a lifetime in recovery that’s what I want to happen be there for my family. Know most on here probably think I don’t deserve to have them and a few weeks ago I didn’t but I hope I can get to a place where I do deserve to have a family and the good things in life - keep on the current path.

Somehow have always managed to keep turning money but been in a really bad place for years if I’m honest not just with money. Personal financial situation was probably not the worst thing in my life tbh but wanting to sort that has been a prompt to working out I wouldn’t sort it without sorting the mindset and if I kept !!!!!! my brain up. Been a strange road this past year or so lockdown etc trying to sort myself out failing numerous times learning I dwell on it I wind up back on the powder whereas before I’d have no !!!!!! clue why used to think it ‘just happened’ ha fml. Quarter of my dev block has exchanged, each one a step closer to being able to close that chapter. Learned a lot from it tbf.

Not had a bad sleep went to bed early got up late ha but in the middle wasn’t amazing - awake a few times. Saw 3am but not 4am ha. That’s something I need to learn to live with not let it trip me off think I should be able to be awake all hours and ‘productive’ for 23/24. 🙄

Hoping to get a bit of time to update figures going to be away for the budget reset day but I know it’s not the end of the world if it waits for Sunday/ Monday.
