Glad to hear that you had a good time and enjoyed yourselves, both of you.

You really do seem to have turned a corner this time. Long may it continue.

    Day 10

    Thanks all.

Went to the in-laws for a few hours today, helped the mother in law with the roast, done some therapy things and have started to going through and have some conversations with wife about the personal finances. Been keeping track of spending for long enough now to know what’s realistic/ isn’t and what we want / need. Not had the easiest day today tbh got through though and have been able to spend some time with my boy. In-laws spent a bit of time explaining I’ve not been too well but am on the road to recovery. They were good with him and told him in a way that didn’t make him worry I’m dying or something. I’d been dreading my in-laws asking about the slip I had but it’s over with now and I’m putting the time I spent in rehab to use.

As mentioned previously my intention is to set up a new diary for the accountability which I still intend to do once I’ve finished my spreadsheet and got figures into some some of friendly format for here haha.

@foxgloves It’s been !!!!!! awful in NG since I’ve been back lol. Can def relate to the panic attacks !!!!!! awful wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy so I hope you’ve learned to manage. I’ve been very ill with those over the years, how much was/ is true issues with anxiety and how much was my cocaine habit, I don’t really know suppose I’ll find out over time and hopefully learn to manage the anxiety in better ways - know it’s not all entirely drug related.

@foxgloves / @katsu re friends yeah I need to find others over time. Just want to concentrate on my family for the moment. Better relationship with my wife/ son/ wider family. Know Rome wasn’t built in a day etc and I’m doing the therapy. Taste of what a marriage should be this week and tbh I’m wracked with guilt but I don’t stop that, just leads me down the wrong paths.

@katsu re my mate with the MG, yeah he doesn’t do blow or anything else for that matter. I should probably make time to speak to him really.

@getmore4less haha will give that one a miss fml. Wife is going to have a look at the IPace this week.

@alt80 since the residential, you've done incredibly well; you should congratulate yourself on coming back from the glitch. Your feet are on the ground; having had some issues with getting to grips with reality myself, I know how difficult it can be.  Worth it though.  You've done that first visit to the in laws and it went well; they've really got your back haven't they.  We are all rooting for you and can see what a good egg you are.  Your wife is amazing too; getting away from social media is a big achievement.   You  have people in real life who love and need you alt; keep going.  Humdinger

Woken up positive this morning- everything scheduled for my week ahead again. Wife and I finishing finances together. She’s drawn up a little list of about 3 cars as a BMW replacement through business- going to initially see them herself during the week if she is interested after an initial look we’ll go together- want her to choose tbf I know it’s not great as realistically we need to put through the business so are limited but at least she’ll have some choice.

@Humdinger1 thank you. All of the above worth fighting for 100%. Wife has given me a bit of inspiration tbf staying off IG. She’s still not touched it feels life is better without it.
Glad to hear that all is going well and also that you are letting your wife choose her car. That is a massive step forward for you both and hopefully the start of a whole new chapter of your lives where you make decisions together.

You really are a changed man with a much more positive outlook.

See we told you that you could do it :)

I saw it on TV last week so I don't know if it is any good.
If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.

You are sounding so much better on all fronts.
I'm sure the finances can be re-sorted.
I mention this word a lot I think - balance - and it seems like you're seeing things from that perspective so much more, financially, the cars, decision making and actually letting yourself enjoy 'real' life stuff and reconnecting with family. Level seventybillion or I've failed will soon be a thing of the past hopefully and look at my lovely family and how good life is a thing for the present and future.

Its a good read at the moment @alt80. I hope the demons give you a bit more peace soon so you can build on it more but Day10 is a great new number for starters.
Looking forward to the new budget when you're ready.
