Could it be possible that your son is doing so well because he's feeling the benefit of spendng so much time with both of his parents instead of just his mum. I'd say so and it's a great payoff for the effort that you've been putting in to improve your home life and relationships.4

I think everyone is very proud when there child/ grandchild acheieves something especially when its unexpected. Glad to hear you have had a good dinner and enjoyed time with your wife. When things are more normal I think you would both benefit from some couples counselling but i also think that it needs to be face to face with the counsellor as nuances are too easily lost over Zoom or whatever. I know you are talking but is she listening and taking stuff on board. She doesnt have trust in you because in the past you have given her no reason to and that is going to take time to change but she does need to change some of her skewed thinking and behaviour towards you. Whether she realises her behaviour is unacceptable and in some cases downright cruel I am not sure which is why I think you both need some guidance. On a happier note have a lovely weekend and appreciate all the good things you have. I could just enjoy a Greek weekend shame I live a long way from you or I might be on your door step for a doggy bag.2

I knew you were getting on a bit but didn't think you were at the chamber pot stage in life lol.
Sounds like a pretty decent Friday
One thing that is clearly helping is the planning of goals outside the work,, even a tiny one like taking son for an ice cream has impacted the whole day.
I think this plays into routines make you more comfortable as when nothing is planned you fall back to an old routine.
Good you found something you could watch together,
I really like some of the stories where people older and a lot wiser than me reflect on their lives.
This is where I think if you could get into one of the longer running series it will make it easy to put episodes into a schedule to establish routine.
On the quiz stuff there are plenty of episodes of QI to work through but not seeing many on iPlayer.
I was wondering if any of the old classic comedies might appeal, you being very young they may not quite work, there is an element of you had to be there for some of them.
Monty Python
The young ones
Faulty towers
Only fools and horses
Gavin and Stacey
Black Adder
Or even US one like Friends, BIg Bang, Cheers
If you wans some crime drama
The Bridge, is a good scandi worth staying with even though subtitles(maybe reading them will keep you awake) (38 1hr over 4 series)
https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episodes/b03bnc34/the-bridge
we found the JKR Strike very watchable(11 1hr over 4 series)
Remember this is not extreme all or nothing just try one set and then planned one episode a few nights a week.
TV used to work where you got one a week of everything except he news, then the soaps changed all that to multi eps a week, now there is a tendency to binge whole series quickly.1 -
Well done to your son, you should be proud of him. I know what you mean about the annoying boasting parents though, had years of listening to that when my two were at school.Enjoy your Greek weekend. Reminds me I haven’t made Mr SA kleftico for ages, it’s one of his favourites.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1
