First Steps to Solvency

Son went back to school this week so life has suddenly changed again with the focus taken away. My mum, daughter & I also have a shopping trip planned when this madness has eased off a bit so I can’t criticise that too much albeit the circumstances are different. So long as the budget is stuck to I don’t have a problem with the shopping trip but the way it was asked for wasn’t good.
Do you have a property that needs interior designing at the moment, @alt80? A project of some sort is desperately needed in the wake of the empty nest. Also keep talking about the tennis club so she feels something to look forward to.

Be very careful with the anniversary thats turned into a spa trip.......
Check what's included.
Block ALL charges to the room(even though it will be convenient for the dining and drinks) especially from the spa.
See if there is anywhere you can visit nearby to be out of the place and away from the internet)IG).

Happy Thursday
Mixed on the weather front today but had a lovely drive up the A614 by Rufford Abbey and Clumber Park - your neck of the woods @RelievedSheff. Thinking about the day I took my son out in October just before the lockdown. Had an amazing day and thought when we’re allowed can do it again. Don’t know what’s really changed for me but driving down the A614 with a stupid grin on my face haha nice to get out into the countryside and first time I’m looking forward to this lockdown ending to spend some time out with my family. Completely free apart from the RR fuel lol so not that free really I don’t suppose.
Thanks @stymied just checked when I am for March - £550/1885 (as stated before the weekend is thrown in the interim apr-jul). Realised I am really struggling to keep within my budget for fuel so doing the right thing upping that in the interest of realism. Generally very low spends nothing apart from £65 wife has spent and come off her budget for year. Nothing to do and nowhere to go so having the budgets for some of the things we have seem odd right now - def will make sense when we’re back in the real world though.
I’m going to see how it goes apr-jul no idea if she’ll stick with the set budget. I’ve got little trust but need to see, not really fair to just not trust without reason. I’d agree she’s addicted to IG, she quite freely admits this after a previous conversation with her though so far as she is concerned not like it’s illegal or anything. She was meant to be doing some of the counselling with me but refused when it was meant to happen - my behaviour not her fault etc. She messaged my mate yesterday saying if he quits the chang could be his lucky year so not sure she needs much encouragement to get out there apparently it was ‘banter’ so she says but idk anymore. My fault I can’t provide the lifestyle anymore, couldn’t carry on down that road she doesn’t get if I’d carried on would have destroyed everything in time I know that much. Funny thing is asked her last night about things she enjoys doing together the most all just walks/ sport etc stuff that costs next to nothing lol idk.
Picking son up to get the Mother’s Day stuff today and going to have a go at making a fish pie. My dad said I shouldn’t buy fish from Sainsbury’s won’t taste as good he’s the world’s biggest food snob going haha reminded me of some stupid article on news app this morning about class which made me laugh. My dad is as working class northern as they come but stupidly fussy when it comes to where his food is from/ likes learning about other cultures etc lot more so than wife’s family they’re def middle class but will buy all their food from cheapo places and go on the cheap package hols to save a few quid lol.

@stymied you’re right re school back never thought about that. Tbh would rather she kept out of the dev projects all going very well right now as they are. If she shows an interest it’s a 5 min wonder and that’s it same with any other work.
@getmore4less good call mate. She did get a really decent deal tbh dinner/ breakfast included. Genuinely have paid well over £500 for similar thing and reviews all look great so should be decent all being well.
Going to cost a bit for drinks and no doubt she’ll have a couple of treatments but shouldn’t be extortionate. Probably not going to visit anywhere - would rather avoid the shops ha.
@RelievedSheff quite looking forward to it myself now lol.

She really does need to take stock of how good she actually has it.
Failing that pack her a bag and send her off to JV guy. They sound ideal for each other!1 -
If I were you I would be be considering the fact that it would probably be cheaper to divorce your wife than continue to pay for her lifestyle, she can go and live with your mate. I am speechless at the fact that she is in contact with him knowing what a bad influence he is and Im beginning to think that it suits her for you to be off your face and not in control all the time, she doesn't like it because you are now seeing things clearly for the first time in years and she can't get away with her awful behaviour now you're not wasted everyday, next time she says she is leaving show her the door 😡Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1202
