Cars - know where people on here are coming from re buying an old car and doing work to it. Tbh I’ve no interest in that side of owning cars. Never really enjoyed doing works to houses either tbh did a bit when I was younger because I had to no other reason. Got a team for that now and pleased that’s the case. Like the buying side, putting the team and project together, managing the job and the selling/ ongoing management. As far as cars are concerned I like owning new cars tbh - any blemishes I’ve put there and can be fixed straight away rather than dealing with someone else’s problem who inevitably hasn’t looked after it in the way I would and can take to dealer - any problems they fix. I get a lot of people who have an interest in cars it’s as much about spannering as anything else. That’s not my thing. If this electric car thing comes in will probably run my petrol cars until there are no petrol stations left and give up with it altogether. Hope that Range Rover do an electric one or I’ve got the money for a Bentley and wife can drive me around lol.
100 plan to keep the RR way past the balloon date. Not exactly the first time I’ve hung onto a car and owned it outright and definitely back to 1 car on finance at a time. 50% idea is a good one @enthusiasticsaver not sure I can be that patient but had I been able to put the 50% down on the RR, there’d be a similar payment to now and no balloon so get that 100%. Would like to think that’s what I’ll do in the future tbh.
Idk re driving interest; I’m not really interested in much outside of business, not just driving I’ve lost an interest in. Can’t go out anymore. Used to really like my holidays when I went I planned epic trips which at the time I really enjoyed and so did wife but just all a bit so what now. Seen one beach/ city/ art gallery seen them all really. I’m not a hobbies type person never really have been. I get it’s nice for some. Lot of people who like golf, playing a musical instrument or whatever just I don’t really see the point. No point in life really ha not like I’m oblivious to the fact life is ultimately absolutely !!!!!! pointless.
Re the car programmes probably same for me as property ones lol @RelievedSheff 100 hear that.

enthusiasticsaver said:My DH likes seeing how they restore them but he definitely gets how much work it involves and if they charged for labour they would be selling at a loss. Most of these programmes are purely entertainment. He is an engineer so he knows the work involved and the time it takes. He is not interested in driving them but would like to restore them himself had we more driveway/workshop space and he had more time.

Since I started paying the debts always get massive guilt leading up to occasions knowing I can't spend what I usually would on gifts. Not about me expecting a gift in return or anything. Suppose I see the only way to compensate for being around me is to get nice gifts lol.
@Purplelady65 Iswym yeah I'm making progress doesn't change I shouldn't have been doing what I was doing with my life both drugs and no control over personal finances. Shouldn't have treated my family the way I have either !!!!!! basic stuff I couldn't work out. Not sure I'll ever get into a position where I don't hate myself tbh know I'd actually be better for my family if I could.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1203 -

Fair bit planned for the day tbh probably going to be knackered this evening but at least awake at a reasonable time and a good 5 1/2hours sleep no waking up. Really could do with that resolving itself def function a lot better on 7/8hours like I don’t even know what that looks like now though.
Not going to work this evening - dog walk and bit of chill tv I think. I do need to work out what I’m doing about the cards with not so much time to run tbh don’t think I’m going to get that sorted today. Don’t like being full of excuses tbh just want to have a clear head and already know I’m going to be useless past about 7pm this evening would like to go to bed early and try to get some sleep.
@RelievedSheff thank you hope things work out that way for me. Always lived a bit of a chaotic life outside of business tbh think I’m exhausted know it needs to stop and work towards a more sustainable way of living.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1202 -

Didn’t get much done last night, asleep earlier than usual. Woke up with the anxiety/ cravings/ weirdness. Completely anxious about how little I’m getting done at the moment and seems I’m now craving the chang too. Spoke to professional 100% don’t want the whole cycle to start again.
Meant to do a cash flow start making some decisions about the 0% due in July. Was so tired last night I just fell asleep on the sofa - nothing done. Not pleased with myself.Ha yeah oily car parts inside my house and over my drive really not doing anything for me tbh.
@Onebrokelady lol re Monday and thanks re valentines, I know I shouldn’t have the amount of guilt I do have over it.0 -
You knew you would be knackered yesterday first thing in the morning so the day actually did nothing but go to plan.
I guess its hard to accept not being able to battle through but knowing you only did that on the stuff and that although you might have kept going you weren't exactly going in the right direction is hopefully registering too.
4 hours of good work will be better than 12 hours of manic non-focussed stuff. It always will be. Your parents' work ethic is admirable but measuring it solely by hours put in is destructive.
Hopefully you'll be able to see that yourself when you measure what you've done in 'normal' hours on a good day, and then hopefully there will be more and more of those good days.
Hang on in there - stop beating yourself up. You're doing battle with a 20y habit - a lot of your energy is needed for that right now.
Gauging what type of day it is and planning your activities accordingly is good, not failure - its managing the situation.
I bet your wife was much happier with you snoozing away on the sofa than locked away in your office on an artificial destructive work binge.5
