Your life does sound exhausting. A bit of chill and down time will do you the world of good.2

Another weekend in the bag, not brilliant for you but you made it and that's just great
Knowing you'll be tired and planning a quiet evening is perfectly fine. Nothing to feel guilty about. Doing what's right for you now will mean you can do what's right for everything else on other days.
Have a good week @alt80

Think you missed the point.
lazy Sunday start with a decent breakfast/brunch.
Not eating is not good and will make you grumpy.
If needed a bit of work before the cooking starts.
I would have thought a lot of your workload timings is driven by external resources and can't really be sped up by more hours.
If on top of everything other than forwarding planning what are you inventing to do to do more than 9hr 5days a week.
Is it really that productive?
Keep the hours for scaling/taking on short term fee earning load.

@RelievedSheff/ @warby68 thanks yeah think I need to work on not getting the guilt when I’m not doing stuff that’s not related to work.
@getmore4less You’re generally right about my work tbh a lot of the time I’m working at night/ weekends apart from forward planning is not productive or because I do too many fee earners and need to catch up myself. I generally sit and type reports for my fee earning staff that they’ve dictated/ draft agreements letters etc/ general admin stuff. Have the admin resource for them to do it tbh lot of the time Monday rolls around and they are waiting to book jobs/ phone to ring because I’ve sat up all weekend getting stuff done. Yeah I know it’s not using their time as well as I could be often just can’t keep away in the evenings/ weekend - gives me a life don’t know what the !!!!!! I’d do with myself if I wasn’t working in some capacity tbh mate.4 -
@enthusiasticsaver you mentioned the other day re hiring performance cars. Yes you can. Very expensive for a day or whatever but I know where you’re coming from. Tbh I’m not as bothered about driving as I was - fun been taken away a bit for me seems like there’s a cop on every corner sometimes haha. Maybe there always was and I’m just getting a bit old for it and trying to hang onto something I was massively interested in when younger but not so much now idk. Don’t get me wrong I like having a nice car but tbh 9/10 would rather drive the RR lol. Know that’s a bit sad for a car guy really ha but I love my Range Rovers. 100% should regret having bought the current one but tbt I don’t really.
Big GT would be nice for the weekend. Probably would enjoy a DB11 more than a Vantage these days tbh or a Continental GT would love one of those as a second car. Not happening unless it’s very used anytime soon though haha.

I think your parents (mum) have taught you bad habits in that you think any time not spent working means you are slacking. Everyone needs down time to process what has gone on in the day, rest the mind and wind down ready to sleep.
I find reading just before bed time or just putting in my earphones and listening to chill/relax music or an audio book helps me feel tired. Obviously being retired now I don't work during the day but any finance/life admin jobs, checking on investments, correspondence/emails etc is done during what used to be my working hours (at the moment anyway while we can't go out). I tend to watch tv for an hour or hour and a half in the evening after dinner. An hour of something like work (or housework/childcare/exercise) earns me an hour of chilling. Different if you work of course but allowing yourself 3 or 4 hours of chilling time every day is healthy IMHO. Just pick things to fill it with like reading to your son, walking the dog, watching tv or diary entry on here then reading etc.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Do you ever watch the programme Wheeler Dealers? My DH loves that where they buy an old classic car, restore it then sell it. A used car at one point may be a possibility if you can get a bargain.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Relievedsheff you are right we have an old GT6 in the garage which is slowly deteriorating as other half is no longer fit and nimble enough to do it up and we can't afford to get someone to do it for us. Not sure I could get In and out of it anyway.
I wish he would sell it but its not going to happen.
