I've recently found a few Facebook groups for Penhaligon's, and it's got quite a following and few seem to have quite an addiction!
Halfeti is lovely but find Halfeti Leather even better.

OH favourite is Halfeti, I love the penhaligon store as well, it’s like an old fashioned shop. Will have to try Halfeti Leather.

Haha! I know halfeti, not smelled it though but apparently the best penhaligon’s. I really like Endymion by them but doesn’t last long enough to justify their prices ha. That story has brightened my day though. Reminds of a mate at uni going around the club guessing women’s shampoo as an attempt to pull...”herbal essences” and then he vomited on one of them

I think the car stuff is just procrastination and needing a goal on your part. That’s some way away and definitely achievable but buying the jag or anything else probably not a good idea when you’re trying to get the wife to reign it in. But I think it’s much like I thought in my head I might get a watch when down to £20k, then £10k, then debt free ha. Now debt free and have other goals now.

Can sort of see why some in the thread get frustrated with the car talk etc. And while my attitude has always been a relationship is a partnership, personally I wouldn’t expect an other half who earns more than me to fund my lifestyle, especially when it’s clear you’d like your wife to work. Just because you’re spending big on a car I don’t think it’s fair she gets to spend the same on make up and tat. And as rightly pointed out, most parents bring up children and work at the same time.

Sounds like the wife is trying with the meal and stuff, can get why it would rile you in the context though. But she does seem to be trying...

can you give the wife a make up budget if its thats important to her and gives her happiness.
I'd be just as frustrated if I was the only wage earner and money was in my opinion being wasted but maybe she sees what you pay for your RR as far more excessive then what she spends to keep her image..........and lets be honest both things are about personal image as you could drive a ford fiesta as much as she could wear boots no.7.
I'd really encourage her to think about a way she could bring some income in to the house other then selling stuff , I was a SAHM for 7 years and a young mum too , I had 3 kids by the time I was 23 but there was nothing like those first wage packets when i started my career ( first child at 18 so no career at that point) - it was so nice not to ask my ex for pocket money. he earnt well for that era and i didnt go back to work out of need for income , more self growth - We managed it that he would continue to pay for all the house bills and to start with food ( although I took that on over time ) , I would pay for my smokes , holidays and anything related to the kids such as clothes and cub/scout and school trips. I didnt earn a fortune but it wasn't about that. He truly felt the pressure was off of him to provide everything and I think you may feel the same in a similar position. It was surprising how I truly considered whether the kids needed trainers/coats / treats etc when it was me providing them where as I will admit when I was spending money he had worked hard for I would buy them because they were nice !!!! 
Instead of talking about cars and investments , try and discuss areas etc that she could look to start a small business in , encourage her to start small and grow ........I know the PR doesnt look to be her game but could she do some kind of home cooked healthy meal service etc , you could infact leave flyers in your properties to advertise it etc and she has the kitchen to do it.
Just an idea but the vegan market is huge at the market but for a lot of people its laziness and lack of inspiration to cater for themselves but if you would order home cooked ready meals

M&S card at £1265 now sales paid for. Absolutely buzzing to see so close to £1k.

Wife on fire with the cooking. H/m pizza and salad after a roast duck main last night. Her pizza is properly made from scratch absolutely epic can’t get better in Italy imo. 

Son’s turn to be a nightmare tonight massive screaming tantrum over taking his plate to the kitchen then crying after I lost it FML think I live in a madhouse sometimes. 

@Nicnak lol was the kind of person who I’m not sure has any concept of the social distance rules haha and we’re back to why I need a covid jab. Haha you’re very brave asked teenage lads what they find attractive in a woman lol 100 would have guessed a lot of tits and !!!!!! rather than fragrance lol.

Long time before we’re going London unfortunately missed out December time. First time in my life not had a December London trip. Don’t think I dare have a weekend there until I’m debt free tbh.

@ryan8655 Halfeti lasts all day mate. Cairo worth trying too imo. I’ve also tried Endymion and found the same thing, assume it’s because it’s a cologne - not very long lasting. I’d quite like to get a set of the portraits collection of theirs just not going to be great on the bank balance ha.

FML uni days haha remember those types of nights well, never thought about guessing women’s shampoos though lol.

Probably right re car I keep looking but no action yet. Feeling a bit sad about the idea of having one car tbh a bit ashamed.

She is trying tbf feel a bit guilty after yesterday and tonight tbh.

@efes_shareholder iyswim re the makeup tbh not like I don’t wear decent clothes/ fragrance etc either it’s not that I want her wearing primark and !!!!!! makeup, it’s more she has so much stuff she doesn’t use.

That’s exactly why I want her to do some kind of work 100 I think it’d be good for her imo. I’ve tried to get her to do something for years, she just doesn’t want to work. Just starts crying if I push it at all. Only thing she’s ever got on board with is doing nails for a few girls. Binned some off though already despite two lockdowns so time off there. Genuinely think she’s only doing it because I laid the beauty treatments on the line tbh. Couldn’t !!!!!! believe how much she spends on that stuff.

the amount my daughters spend on make up mortifies me but i think its a generation thing
stop talking cars with her and focus on gaps she could fill in the current covid situation - im with you , her mind set and her outlook will change when she is seen to contribute , just dont undermine what she may be able to contribute because its not worth a high powered car......................because she may feel that what she contributes doesnt make the difference

I was careful Alt. I gave them a prescribed list and they had to put it under important and not important 🤣 I've learnt my lesson from giving them free reign before!

Another bad nights sleep last night 1.30am in the morning listening to a !!!!!! staying sober podcast. 😆 Been struggling with the stuff. Only not struggling with the spending because no where open tbh. Don’t know !!!!!! is wrong with me tbh I’ve took craving the stuff out on my wife. 100 not her fault I know. Maybe ought to organise a date night haha.

@Nicnak you’re mad lol but good call. Yeah we do both like cooking/ food she just over analysed the food part ha. She’s obsessed probably make her sound like some kind of anorexic or something not like that - she doesnt avoid eating etc just in a weird scientific type way hard to describe just a bit odd lol.

Just read that back to myself sound like some kind of !!!!!! drug addict sometimes wonder if I am with how much I’ve wanted it over these past few months lasts a while and I give in not even like I was doing everyday or anything at any point so no idea why I’m like this. Definitely doesn’t help the self worth but the wife buying makeup 100 shouldn’t be turning me to it fml.
