Accident advice on motorway roundabout

I'm guessing that the Red car joined the junction from the M18 Northbound and wanted to exit at A1 South; so they should have been in the right hand lane, (and indicating), until they cleared the M18 exit.0

That is what the OP had listed in the opening post, personally I wouldn't be sending a well worded email regarding the update from the insurer, there are more important issues to deal with.129T said:jordy, your insurers stating that accidents are classed as 50/50 liability is wrong and that should not have even been mentioned. Every accident is based on a specific set of individual actions. They simply can not state liability until they are in possession of the facts. Until they are in that position though, they can class the accident as 'at fault' and change it when applicable. You do not have to settle for 50/50 and I would be sending a well worded email to your insurer if I were you.0 -

If you were following the lanes, no indicator would be needed.1

I don't get what you mean? she was in the left lane marked only m18 then tried to follow the road around to the right towards the a1 south instead of being in the right lane marked m18 and a1 south if that helps?bigadaj said:But if someone was going a1 south they would have missed the turnoff where the OP was going onto the M18!
OP - How can someone be in that lane if they want A1 south when they have already passed the A1 turning?0 -
I always indicate to leave a roundabout......ElephantBoy57 said:jordystreet said:the right hand lane and join onto the right hand lane of the slip road, the third party was in the left lane and attempted to turn right and collided with my back left/ bumper, I indicated to let it be known my intentionThe way you describe that, it is you with your indicator on, to turn left, across his path. I never crossed into any left lane, I stayed in the right lane marked m18 and a1 south and tried leaving onto the right lane of the m18 slip road, the third party was in the left lane marked with only m18 and followed the left lane all the way around towards the a1 south at which point she collided with my back end, I've never known any roundabout where you turn right from the left lane to be honest unless its marked otherwise

Please don't submit that picture without snipping out the dash and bonnet of the car.jordystreet said:This is the picture of the road markings leading up to it0 -

Six points for using a hand-held mobile while driving. You've just kinda proved that you were doing exactly that.0 -
I thought that was just for mobile phone use, that is a camera taking those photos.AdrianC said:Six points for using a hand-held mobile while driving. You've just kinda proved that you were doing exactly that.

If you stay in a marked lane then it cannot be your fault, but can you prove that?jordystreet said:I never crossed into any left lane, I stayed in the right lane marked m18 and a1 south
