"Opening a new account includes changing an existing TSB account, other than a Classic account, to a Spend & Save or Spend & Save Plus account."By your logic, you wouldn't get cashback from changing a Classic Plus.
I'd want to talk to them before actually spending money to have the spend and save plus & then downgrading it, that it would work. I'm more likely to close it and open it again, but then again I'm getting bored with all these debit card payments. All the paperwork received upon changing from Spend & Save Plus states this is a 'new Spend & Save account', which would undermine that argument. This was the same when changing from Classic Plus, and as far as I can see is almost the same as opening an actually brand new account - so consistent with the stated 'includes changing an existing TSB account, other than a Classic account, to a Spend & Save account'.bristolleedsfan said:phillw said:WillPS said:

Six max £5 cashback per spend and save account. That’s it. No second time around.
Open another or convert existing Classic plus if desperate for another string of six fivers.Tell me where the terms and conditions mention this maximum of six £5 cashback payments.Whether or not it happens, I guess we'll see.
I don’t think you can go round again and the clock is ticking from month of opening.Opening an account is defined in condition 1.1 thusly:"Opening a new account includes changing an existing TSB account, other than a Classic account, to a Spend & Save or Spend & Save Plus account."By your logic, you wouldn't get cashback from changing a Classic Plus.
I think the logic is that maximum of 6 x £5 would have already been paid on account number 00000000 upgrading to S+S Plus then downgrading it back to normal S+S wont change anything ..........
Terms could not be any clearer. https://www.tsb.co.uk/current-accounts/cashback/"Earn £5 Cashback each calendar month, including the month you opened your account when you make 30 debit card payments or more each calendar month"*Cashback is only payable for the first six calendar months on Spend & Save accounts, including the month the account is opened.

Tell me, by your reading, should a holder of a Classic Plus who changes their account to a Spend & Save get 6 months of cashback? The term which allows that to happen is the one you're selectively ignoring:Opening a new account includes changing an existing TSB account, other than a Classic account, to a Spend & Save or Spend & Save Plus account.

I did this 7 months back (classic plus > S&S) and for 6 months got £5 cashback (obviously after doing 30 DC tranx).

Has anybody tried their luck in the 7th month to get the £5 cashback? I've almost reached my six months on 3 accounts.

I do see that there's an option to close the account within 30 days.
And even if the account is downgraded, is it certain that you'll be allowed another lot of £5 for six months?
S+S + can be downgraded in same way as it gets upgraded, I would be suprised if another £5 x 6 can be gained having previously had 6 x £5 from S+S accountYorkshire_Pud said:Plus account has a monthly charge of £3 which dents the £5 cashback even though it’s unlimited duration.

Open another or convert existing Classic plus if desperate for another string of six fivers.
*new as defined by TSB, in this case an account which was opened as Spend & Save in October, changed to Spend & Save Plus in April and changed once again to Spend & Save in May2 -

Being as terms and conditions of Plus account are : "If you’ve more than one Spend & Save Plus account in your own name as an individual or more than one joint Spend & Save Plus account, we may convert your additional Spend & Save Plus account(s) into a Spend & Save account or another current account in our range" more likely to be an unintended loophole than action of downgrading back to S+S being defined by TSB as "new"
