I would be very suprised if anybody else genuinely unrelated having upgraded to Plus paid £3 fee, subsequently downgraded and received a further 3 months x £5 without paying another Plus £3 fee

Not sure what you mean - it had been working for me off and on since the account opened = 6 months on S+S, a month on S+S Plus, then back to S+S. £5 each time.
This month, nowt. Game over, it seems.0 -

This month, nowt. Game over, it seems.Account I downgraded during December, i received £5 on 10th January in respect of it being a S+S. account again.I have never had anymore £5 payments without having upgraded again and nobody else bar post that you quoted from 9th August has stated that they received 3 months x £5 after downgrading.0 -
I've given up with it now completely. For a couple of months I complained, and on the strength of having got it the previous month I got the payment again. It appears the system no longer treats a change from S&S Plus to S&S as an eligible change of account.
This is wrong, in my view, and I could keep going and I'm confident a phone call would each month would see the £5/month manually added but tbh I can't be bothered with that. They're donor accounts now, awaiting a decent switching offer.0 -
My six months of fivers on the normal spend and save account has just come to an end. I was debating whether to upgrade to plus or revert back to using my Co-op account for spending. However, I had an idea of switching my S&S account to Nationwide to get the £125 then, as Nationwide no longer do the free travel insurance for Europe, switch away from them back to a new TSB Spend & Save with a new account number. Would this work does anyone think for getting six more fivers without charge or would they pick up that I already had a spend and save account before? My plan was to give it a month so a reasonable amount of time had passed and to allow me to get my bonus from Nationwide etc. Thanks.

No need for any of the acrobatics, just open a new Spend & Save account (or 'change an account other than Classic to Spend and Save*) and you'll get a fresh 6 months of bonuses on the new account.
Credit check every time.2 -
11 accounts all with debit cards that work under same logon ID, only the first 8 accounts show under replacement/lost or stolen cards, seemingly maximum 8 accounts that can be upgraded to Plus. This is how system works and has always worked re S+S £5 payments paid automaticallyAfter 6 months S+S, upgrade to S+S for further £5 - pro-rata £3 fee chargedDowngrade after 1 month get pro-rata fee refunded plus £5 payment automaticallyIf stay downgraded more than 1 month do not get additional £5 payments automaticallyIf stay upgraded more than 1 month and then downgrade do not get £5 payment automatically. It is possible to keep receiving £5 payment without any charges if keep upgrading/downgrading taking care not to remain upgraded for more than 1 month consecutively
