@rugbymadfamily good job with the running. Do you do parkruns on Saturdays? Apparently they might be starting up again in a few weeks but we'll see I guess.

We also started shopping in Lidl again in early April, having avoided it because we were getting home deliveries from another supermarket to avoid catching Covid in a supermarket. The price difference was about £15 a week and honestly there was no difference in quality, so we are very happy to be shopping at Lidl again.

I've never done parkrun before but am keen to start when it gets going so fingers crossed they can make it happen!

Agreed on the quality, there are a few bits that I've tried which haven't been great but for the most part it's all well on par with the brands and more expensive supermarkets so am also happy to be back there!

Mental busy week at work on-going this week, its a whole lot of things I've never done before and not sure i understand.....sure I'll figure it out but its complicated!

Money wise all is ok, back on track with the food budget having gone back to Lidl which is good. Entertainment is through the roof with things opening up but I had budgeted for it knowing there was a high chance that would happen! Still, nice to actually be able to get out and see people 😊

Nice run again this evening, just a 5ks but was enjoyable in the early evening sun. Was really good to clear my head as well as work has been really tricky this week. Had a bit a too and fro with my boss, think he's just challenging me to see how I respond....but thats not my style lol.

  • Had a very pleasant weekend, lots of down and relax time and not too spendy which is good! Food shop done for the week for just under £45 which is good and some good meals planned (veggie jalfrezi tonight, can't wait!).

Got another good run in as well, 10kms yesterday....burnt a good amount of calories but definitely ate them all back with a massive roast dinner 😆

  • Been a tough week at work, lots of brain power required and its been interesting but I'm knackered! Managed a short run earlier this week and a 5kms one at lunch today which is good. Hopefully get another in on Sunday.

Have a lunch booking for tomorrow, hoping it wont be too pricy but its the first decent meal out planned in over a year so I won't worry too much (and we have money in the entertainment budget!). Husband is a very keen foodie so we used to do a very good meal out every other month (pre lockdowns!) so it should be a real treat.

  • Such a nice weekend, spent Sun with some friends and managed to get to a lovely farm shop. Got some really nice produce and some new plants for the garden. Garden has been hard going because it was such a state when we moved in, but its slowly getting there. Other bits if the house need doing and more of a priority so trying not to spend too much on the garden but we both enjoy spending time out there so its a balance to strike! Luckily we enjoy doing the work ourselves!

We're doing the same ourselves @rugbymadfamily, our back garden was not great when we bought our house. My other half is slowly landscaping it ourselves, one corner at a time. It can be so expensive though can't it, so we do find it a bit of a juggle on a budget to be honest.

    Your meal out sounds lovely!
