£100 Ulster Bank NI switch offer - ends 19 November 2020

I'd love to use the Cumberland BS but it has a strict policy on who can have an account and since I am not in their area of operations I am not eligible. I have a second account with Metro Bank but I really don't feel it is anywhere near as proactive in helping the community as the Co-operative Bank. Where an ethical league table is concerned I look at the bottom of it and avoid those institutions, often the top candidates are either impractical or maybe have one outstanding issue or lack thereof which is a deal-breaker, and those in the middle have compromises but offer much of what I'm looking for. Same with their league table of supermarkets. A league table can help in making an informed choice.kaMelo said:No, as a member of the Cumberland BS it give me a platform to point out how unethical you are by using a mid table bank such as Co-Op.0 -
Has anyone had Ulster Bank Current Account opened based on normal Electronic checks as opposed to having to either upload photo/selfie and/or be requested to supply NI Driving Licence/Passport?

It sounds like the same problems that surfaced when they launched a market leading savings account in 2017.
I have not gone for the current account, but I was electronically identified for the savings account in 2017.

I was asked to sign a form, but other then that I haven't been asked to send anything. However, I have sent uploaded ID on Digidocs for my RBS and Natwest acct.

Despite receiving a letter last weekend asking me to send a copy of my passport, I've now received a letter welcoming me to Ulster Bank! Card and PIN arrived earlier this week too. Switch is supposed to complete on Monday.
I'm tempted not to bother with the surplus ID checks. Let's hope they are as forthcoming with the switch incentive.0 -
My card & pin + email giving me the last 4 digits of my customer number + sms giving me my "Anytime banking" activation code have arrived after signing the form and returning,no request for any docs, unlike my 1st attempt where i stupidly asked for a small overdraft and they wanted all sorts of documents sent to them, so i phoned and cancelled the application and re-submitted which has apparently been opened with just my signature. Still could not get past the "update your mobile" screen, so have to now wait the few days for a 5th card reader to arrive and 3 days before i can gain full internet access using my "updated" but not really updated mobile to receive their code.ischris85 said:bristolleedsfan said:Has anyone had Ulster Bank Current Account opened based on normal Electronic checks as opposed to having to either upload photo/selfie and/or be requested to supply NI Driving Licence/Passport?

I returned the signature documents but no specific ID documents were asked for so provided none. Has anyone managed to fully open the account and complete a cass switch without providing ID?
